"Slipknot" without masks - on the other side of the stage ...

The music of the band Slipknot is a mixture of Korn and Marlyn Manson, it can be described as nu-metal - a new type of heavy music that arose in the late 90's and was first spread in the US and then all over the world. Fans of Slipknot call themselves maggots (maggots), and the texts of the group are nihilistic and gloomy pictures of the darkest sides of the human soul. The group performs exclusively in scenic costumes, so that Slipknot without masks for a long time was seen, perhaps, only by friends and relatives of the musicians themselves.

A group formed in the small American town of Des Moines in the distant 1995, at that time the composition was unstable, and the band still could not find their own style. However, Slipknot soon received its current name and several regular members who did not leave the band until the very end. Here are their names:

  • 0 - Joy Jordison, one of the most talented drummers of our time;
  • 1 - Paul Gray, bass guitar;
  • 2 - Chris Fen, percussionist;
  • 3 - James Ruth, guitarist;
  • 4 - Craig Jones, in charge of the samples;
  • 5 - Sean Cracken, also known as the "Clown", a percussionist and, perhaps, the most eccentric of the whole composition of Slipknot;
  • 6 - Mick Thompson, guitar;
  • 7 - Corey Taylor, vocals.

Also in the group includes Sid Wilson, who acts as a DJ, but for some reason he did not get the serial number.

Like all newcomers, Slipknot started their creative activities in their hometown, where, incidentally, neither their music nor their style was properly perceived. Already at the very beginning of the career, the guys accurately determined the vector of development of the group "Slipknot", the photo without masks already then could not be found even on the most advanced and close to the group of fan sites. Despite the rather cool reception of the native audience, the band still accumulated the necessary amount for the release of the debut album entitled "Mate. Feed., Kill. Repeat." Money was enough for only 1000 copies, but this was enough to attract the attention of influential people of show business. Soon the band signed a contract with the label Roadrunner Records, and from that moment the Slipknot started to rise to the musical pedestal.

The next step for the group was to collaborate with a well-known producer, under whose direction in 1999 the band released the album of the same name, and then went to conquer the famous Ozzfest festival. Should I say that Slipknot without masks at the festival so no one saw, except for a few close to the group of people? The second album of the group was more than successful, having received the status of platinum. After that, the band went on a tour, where they found an even more extensive army of fans.

The next album "Iowa" the band released in 2001, but its success was less deafening. After a short tour and performance at Ozzfest, where, again, the Slipknot group did not appear without masks, the guys went on a short vacation. At this time, some participants created side-projects that also gained popularity with the maggots and other heavy music lovers, and in 2002, for the fans' delight, a DVD with a spectacular performance of the band in London was released. Since the creation of side projects, it has become more realistic to find photos of Slipknot participants without masks, since even the vocalist of the band started performing without the stage costume inherent in Slipknot.

After Corey Taylor founded Stone Sour, disagreements began to appear in the team. Several times the guys announced the dissolution of the band, but the love of music still overcome the misunderstandings in the team, and fans of heavy metal can still enjoy "anti-human texts" and truly "infernal" music of their favorite team.
