Andrey Davidyan: biography and personal life

Bright vocalist Andrey Davidyan gained wide popularity after participating in the TV show "The Voice". However, a narrow circle of musicians, especially fans of rock, has long and well known this man, who was among the creators of a large number of bands that made up the glory of Russian rock, jazz and funk.

Childhood

January 30, 1956 in Moscow, in a musical family, a boy was born - Andrei Davidyan, whose biography was largely predetermined. Andrei's father is a famous opera and variety singer, tenor Sergei Davidyan, and his mother is a professional pianist. The house constantly sounded music, and the boy began to sing at the age of three. In the future, he was greatly influenced by the environment. They constantly visited creative people, discussed and listened to musical novelties. There was a family in the vicinity of the airport where representatives of the creative intelligentsia settled, so even in the yard and at school number 152, Andrei talked with children from the bohemian and creative environment. The children inherited the taste of their parents, had the opportunity to listen to records brought from abroad, were aware of fashionable novelties in all areas. All this formed the creative, independent and freedom-loving character of the boy. So Andrew first felt the joy of creativity and later could not give up the pleasure of playing live music.

Youth Experiments

In high school, Andrey Davydian draws close to Igor Okudzhava, they are united by an interest in Western music, together they create a group and are drumming enthusiastically on a makeshift drum kit.

During this period, interest in music and the scene is dominant. At the end of the school, young Davidyan decides to enter the theater institute. At the entrance exams, he meets Yefim Shifrin, but both boys can not pass the test in college. Andrew was not very upset and together with Igor Okudzhava created the group "Leap Year", which quickly gained popularity. They were joined by Chris Kelmi and Alexander Sitkovetsky, Yuri Titov came a little later, the gold staff worked until 1974, when Titov and Davidyan were drafted into the army.

Adulthood

Andrew was in the airborne troops and, returning from the army, took a serious decision - to enter the institute. But not in theatrical and not even in music, but in the Institute of Asian and African countries at Moscow State University. Absolute hearing helped Andrei learn three languages: English, Arabic and French. During his studies, Davidyan does not abandon music classes, he no longer fits into the new composition of the "Leap Year" and creates with his comrades a new group - "Voluntary Society", which plays songs of cult western rock bands. Later they are joined by the brothers Pavel and Alexander Smeyany, and the group begins to be called "Victoria". She works in funky style and sings the songs of Andrey Davidyan.

At the end of the university, Andrei works as an interpreter in Egypt and Algeria, but when the time of perestroika came, the work for him did not become. And it's time to become a professional musician.

Return to music

Maxim Dunaevsky invited Andrei to the famous at that time State Pop Orchestra of Russia. The collective toured a lot, many well-known musicians worked in it: Irina Ponarovskaya and her husband Weyland Rodd, Pavel Smeyan. With them, Davidyan traveled the whole country, but the collective could not stand the transition to market relations and disintegrated.

Davidian's creative path was rather tortuous, he could work in a huge number of collectives: "Rock Atelier", "Alter-Ego." In 1987, the musician took part in the filming of the clip for the later cult song "Closing the Circle". And Andrew again creates a new group, called "CB", which stands for "again together." The group includes Yuri Titov, Pavel Smeyan, Vadim Golutvin. Old friends did not last long together, and already in 1993, Davidyan again created a group - Sound Cake, in which he continues to play until now. The group performs songs of Andrey Davidyan, plays funk, jazz-rock, soul. The team has a lot of admirers, who are captivated by Davidyan's unusual vocals. Today Sound Cake plays in the Moscow club "Forte" on Bolshaya Bronnaya, and live concerts of the band gather full halls of listeners.

The way to the "Voice"

To many good musicians, despite the undoubted talent, the glory is brought only by television, to this category belongs and Andrey Davidyan. "Voice" is a TV show that opened the singer's talent to the general public. The musician came to the show and became the brightest star of the evening. On blind audition, all the mentors turned to him. Alexander Gradsky later spoke of his confidence that he hears a black singer, what was his surprise when he saw a long-time acquaintance! He greeted Andrei with the words: "At last he came!" And said that he always felt sorry for Davidyan, who is losing his talent in smoky restaurants. Leonid Agutin admitted that he had known Davidyan for a long time and was glad that he had decided on such a difficult step. The singer chose Pelagia's team, which surprised her very much, she said that she did not even know what she could teach such an experienced musician. Andrey Davydian was able to show the bright talent and breadth of talent on the show. "Voice" became for him a real starry hour. At the end of the season, Andrei continues to lead a habitual way of life, but the group has added concerts, and the musicians have opened new concert venues.

Andrey Davidyan: personal life, wives and children

The musician was married three times, he has four children, one of the daughters took part in the children's "Golos". Two daughters live abroad, and the son works in the father's group. Today Davidyan is happy in his relations with the outstanding interior designer Victoria Kolos.
