Signs of endometriosis. What are they?

The disease of endometriosis is quite common today. And the patient is getting younger. This disease leads to such unpleasant consequences as infertility and pelvic pain. To date, specialists do not fully understand the causes of this ailment.

Symptoms of endometriosis may be absent. Sometimes it is discovered by chance at a routine examination and ultrasound. However, quite often this diagnosis is made to patients as a result of a survey of infertility.

In endometriosis, endometrial cells are located where they should not be. They like the lining of the uterus grow during the cycle and are rejected at the end under the influence of hormones. The signs of endometriosis depend on the individual characteristics, localization and severity of the process. There is genital and extragenital, which is located outside the genitals, the type of disease. If the body of the uterus is affected, then they burn about internal endometriosis, and if the pelvic peritoneum, fallopian tubes, vagina, ovaries, cervix, then - about the outer.

In this disease, small foci of oval, round and irregular forms that contain a transparent or dark thick liquid appear or are fused with other tissues. Endometrioid heterotopies may have the character of a cyst or cellular structure, that is, consist of a large number of small cystic cavities.

So, endometriosis signs:

  • Abdominal pain that is not associated with menstruation, with irradiation in the coccyx and lower back;
  • Soreness during sex;
  • Long, painful and profuse periods;
  • Blood discharge after and before menstruation;
  • Cyclic pains that increase during menstruation;
  • With abundant blood loss anemia;
  • Intermenstrual bleeding;
  • Tearfulness, imbalance, irritability;
  • Headache and dizziness;
  • infertility.

In addition, pain can appear when defecating, if endometriosis is in the rectum, and with urination, if it appeared in the bladder. If the foci are present on the cervix, then there may be spotting during and after sex. Signs of endometriosis (ecstagenital) - adhesive disease, hemoptysis, spotting from the navel, urethra and anus, especially during menstruation.

However, the most frequent, terrible, and sometimes the only symptom of this disease is infertility. It is observed in half of women with this diagnosis.

The patient can not become pregnant with endometriosis for various reasons. Quite often in this disease, the process of ovulation is disrupted, spikes are formed in the fallopian tubes and around them, which leads to their obstruction. In addition, with endometriosis, endometrial failure and various pathologies are possible.

Negative effects on fertility prostaglandins, the number of which increases due to inflammation in the tissues surrounding the endometrioid formations. In addition, they increase the number of macrophages that absorb bacteria, decay products and spermatozoa. Often this disease is accompanied by inflammation, fibroids and endometrial hyperplasia.

Thus, signs of endometriosis may be absent, especially in its small forms. Quite often the only symptom of the disease is infertility. Another common symptom is pain that intensifies during menstruation. However, the manifestations of this ailment depend on the individual characteristics, prevalence, severity and localization of the process.
