Robert Kubica is a man who made himself

Robert Kubica - a famous Polish racer, speaking in the "Formula-1". For the first time I got behind the wheel at the age of 4 years. After a serious accident in 2011 and could not return to the "Formula-1". Currently he is a WRC2 pilot. In this article you will be presented with a short biography of the rider.

Childhood

Robert Kubica (photo below) was born in Krakow (Poland) in 1984. Somehow a 4-year-old boy saw an off-road buggy in a children's store and asked his parents to buy it. They refused. But Robert did not give up and continued to pester them for a long time. Finally Anna (the mother of the future rider) gave up and bought her son a small car.

To mark the circle in the park, Arthur (Robert's father) had to use plastic bottles. The boy skied there every day. Since the drive was only on the rear wheel, the car always behaved differently at corners. But the boy quickly adapted and very soon learned to masterfully drive on the self-made track.

The first race

Arthur knew that his son needed something more than a 4 horsepower machine. Therefore, he changed the buggy to the rear-wheel drive "Porsche", which develops speed up to 80 km / h. For a five-year-old boy it was very good. But soon the Porsche decided to replace it with a card. In Poland, the minimum age for participation in competitions on the map was 10 years. Naturally, Robert did not pass by age. But the boy did not lose heart. The next 5 years he went with his father once or twice a week to the nearest track for training. In 10 years, young Robert Kubica went to the "Polish Card Championship". In the next three years, the boy received 6 titles in 2 different categories.

Contract with CRG

A talented young racer has won everything in Poland that is possible. Now it's time to move on. The boy's father set his sights on the Italian Maps Championship. Arthur even had to take a loan, but the money was enough for just a couple of races. Fortunately, his talented son was noticed by the CRG card manufacturer and offered the boy a contract. In 1998 Robert Kubica moved to Italy and began to live in the employer's house. Now the boy's whole life was connected with racing. Robert even began to learn Italian. In the same year, 1998, he became the first foreigner to win the "Italian Card".

The first accident

In 2003, the next stage in the career of Kubica came. He had to test the car in Formula 3, but suddenly got into an accident, breaking his arm. The breakdown was difficult, and the period of full recovery, according to the doctors, was 6 months. "I have other plans," Robert Kubica told them so. The accident did not stop him from being behind the wheel of his car in the "Formula-3" in exactly five weeks. The driver struggled to win with a hand fastened by 18 titanium bolts. It was a rather unusual debut.

"Formula 1"

In 2005, Robert took part in the "World Series of Renault." There he won a number of victories on the routes in Orshenleben, Bilbao and Zolder, becoming the champion of the series as a result. The team "Renault" invited a talented pilot to the tests of "Formula 1". Their results interested in the management of BMW Sauber and offered the Pole a more profitable contract. So Kubica became a test driver of "Formula 1". The debut of the rider was not very successful. In his first race, Robert took only eighth place, earning one point for the team. But even this result was annulled after a few hours. This was because after the finish the mass of the car was much less than what is allowed in the rules of the competition.

Leaving the "Formula 1"

Before the start of the 2011 season in Formula 1, Robert Kubica participated in one of the Italian rallies, where he got into an accident. The rider's car skidded, and she rammed the safety rail. The latter struck the body of the car and grazed the pilot, injuring his right side of the body. Kubica received multiple fractures of the foot, hands and hands. Initially, doctors allowed a certain probability of amputation. But an experienced Italian surgeon successfully completed the seven-hour operation, telling Robert that the restoration of the hand will take at least a year. The account for the treatment of the pilot was 100 thousand euros. He was paid without any questions by an insurance company.

Nowadays

76 days - that's how much Robert Kubica spent in the hospital. After the accident, he fully focused on restoring health. Nevertheless, he failed to achieve the desired form for returning to the Formula-1. Now the racer performs in WRC2. In 2013 he became the champion of this rally. Robert continues to perform there and hopes to return to Formula One.
