Robert Kiyosaki: "Cash Flow Quadrant"

"Cash flow quadrant" is the name of the book of the famous American businessman, investor, teacher and writer Robert Kiyosaki. She entered the bestseller list according to the "Business Week" and "New York Times" versions. Only fifteen books on the financial education of people came from the pen of Robert Kiyosaki. The "cash flow quadrant" is the author's second book.

The most popular was Kiyosaki's "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", in which the investor leads the narrative of his life through the prism of two views: his father - the poor pope, and the father of his friend, the mentor of the future millionaire - the rich pope. In the book, he confronts these two completely different worldviews, showing the main differences in judgments and principles. Kiyosaki expresses the idea that financial success depends 100% on a person's world view.

The biography of the American millionaire of Japanese origin is quite rich. Born in Hawaii in the family of a professor, he preferred the career of an office worker to go to the front. On his return from the war he got a job as a manager in the sales department of the Xerox corporation, in which he was often recognized as the best employee. In 1977, Kiyosaki launched his own business for the production and sale of leather and nylon products. Success came to the firm when it began to produce waterproof "surfer wallets". Eight years later, Kiyosaki retired and devoted himself to writing books and teaching.

About the book

"Quadrant of cash flow" is a kind of continuation of the first book. In this edition, the author continues to develop the idea of a difference in the perception of the world by different groups of people. In relation to the process of making money, Kiyosaki divides all people into four groups. For this, he introduces the notion of a "cash flow quadrant". Four quadrants by Kiyosaki:

  • State employees and employees;
  • Self-employed population, private practice owners, experts;
  • Business owners;
  • Investors.

Representatives of each of these groups are characterized by their attitude to risks, to work for hire, to business and to dispose of money. Robert himself takes himself to the last two, but admits that before achieving absolute financial independence, he had to try his hand at each of the quadrants.

Due to the great popularity of the publication, an audio version was later released. At present, it is possible to read or listen to the cash flow Quadrant in Alexander Aksenov's voice-over.

Rat race

"Rat Race" is a term used by Kiyosaki himself and his co-author Sharon Lecter. The concept is introduced to denote a cycle of consumption that forces a person to spend most of his life doing something he does not like to buy things he does not need.

The main message of the book "Cash flow quadrant", according to Kiyosaki himself, is the end of the "rat race" and a directed movement towards financial independence. Along with Bodo Schaefer, Robert Kiyosaki is still one of the most popular writers-practitioners of investment aids.

Also, Kiyosaki has developed a desktop game "Financial Flow 101", which teaches people the right financial strategies and rules for managing money. The game was popular, so later, Cash Flow 202 was released.
