Prospects for the development of the Moscow Metro. Khimki
Residents of Moscow region near Khimki, located near the Moscow Ring Road, northeast of the Moscow border, are used to overcome the distance to the capital by different types of transport. The Metro is not among them and to this day. But its construction has always been discussed and expected with impatience. The waiting process dragged on for a long time, but the light at the end of the tunnel is already clearly visible. City authorities assure that in the autumn of this year 2013 it will be possible to step into the subway car. Khimki will be connected to Moscow by one line, allowing for 20 minutes to get to Komsomolskaya Square, the capital, located on the Ring Line of the Moscow Metro.
Easy version of the metro. Khimki - Leningradsky railway station
Such a decision is temporary and compromise. But it allows to solve the transport problem in Khimki with minimal expenses. For this purpose, the separate route of the October Railway will be involved. It will launch special trains, and the not-so-ordinary Khimki subway line - Moscow will begin to transport passengers in both directions. The wagons in these convoys will have a design characteristic of the subway, with the seating arrangement along the walls. They will be stripped of tambourines, but they will have a third door in the central part. They will be sent with an interval of 5 minutes, and the terminal station will be the Leningrad Station. The main argument in favor of this project is the relatively low cost of this type of metro. Khimki will receive a new transport communication linking the city to the center of Moscow, and such a technical solution will not require a large financial cost.
From Planernoye to Khimki and on to Sheremetyevo
But the commissioning of the line in the direction of Leningradsky Station does not in any way cancel the plans for the construction of an ordinary metro. Khimki sooner or later will be connected to the whole scheme of the Moscow Metro. The feasibility study provides for the construction of four stations and distances between them. They must continue the Zamoskvoretskaya metro line in the direction to Khimki. The construction of the line is hampered by a high density of construction, the terrain, a large number of overpasses and traffic intersections to be overcome.
