Primrose stalkless and its cultivation

One of the most popular plant species among flower lovers is the primrose stoolless (its other name is the common one). This primrose is quite simple in care and cultivation, it can grow several years in a row, pleasing the people around with beautiful flowers. Very fond of well-lit terrain, but without getting exposed to sunlight. It also accepts cool weather conditions, and at a lower temperature, it can even significantly prolong the flowering period.

Proper care

Nothing is particularly complicated in the care of this primula is not observed, this perennial plant develops quickly enough, pleasing us with its spring bright flowering. Primrose is a stalkless Potsdam Giant, the seeds of which can be bought without difficulty in any store, grows better in slightly shaded places or in the sun, only if the soil in these places is very poorly warmed up. If the primrose is grown in a sunny, warm terrain, nothing good will come of it: the shrubs will gradually begin to melt, the bloom itself will diminish, and the flowers will lose their saturation and become rather faded.

If we talk about the selection of soil, then preference should be given to the humus basis (good water permeability). However, if plants are planted in unsuitable conditions (in sufficiently open places, and not under the canopy of trees), on primulas this will be extremely negative. As for hybrid forms, they require additional spraying. To avoid drying out in the future, lonely plants should be sprinkled a little. In case you have several primroses of the same species, try to plant them closer to each other: in this position, the plants will be tightly closed from the sun's rays and will not allow the soil to become very hot.

Like all plants of this type, the pristine needles require intensive and regular watering in the warm season, in winter the soil must be completely dry. For a better flowering, you first need to take care of the quality of the soil and fertilize it a bit: from the calculation for one square meter, you need to use about two buckets of compost, as well as humus, peat and foliage (naturally, a small part of the sand must be present in the soil). Do not forget that every subsequent five years, the primula needs to be divided in order to avoid a decrease in the size of the flowers. For the best development of the primrose, which is without a stem, the cultivation of which also consists of certain stages, strongly needs additional feeding. After the last frost, only 10 - 15 grams of mineral fertilizers per one square meter. Will significantly accelerate the growth of primroses and in the best way will help them to come back to normal. After a lapse of fifteen days, fertilize 20 grams of superphosphate and 15 grams of calimagnesia (per 1 sq. M.).

Considering the majority of mountain primroses, the common primrose adores a bit of moist soil, but it hardly endures long stagnation and flooding, especially in the spring. The lower parts of the leaves start to get wet all the time, which leads to a rebound. Also, do not forget about loosening and weeding, and also about the correct removal of withering unnecessary flower stalks. Just in case the plant needs to be covered with leaves or earth (just a little bit) for the winter period, so that in case of a snowless winter they do not freeze. Although some types of primulas can overwinter completely without shelter.

Primula primostalnaya before all usually shows their flowers yellow color, later appear and other shades (white, lilac, purple). By the number of colors and forms, hybrid primrose forms are very prominent. From their variety, each flower lover will be able to choose the ones that are suitable for him.
