Plaster of slopes: advantages and recommendations for manufacturing

In the conditions of modern construction, a wide variety of materials are used for finishing slopes : plastering, PVC, MDF, gypsum board, wood. Unlike plastic, wood is more environmentally friendly. But this natural material is more suitable for decorating doorways. For finishing the same window openings the most popular option is plastering slopes. This method of decoration is attractive both in terms of environmental friendliness and practicality, and durability.

It should be noted that the plastering of window slopes is suitable for major repairs or in newly constructed premises, since this method of finishing the window openings is quite a mark. Plastering of slopes of windows is better to carry out in a complex with plaster of walls.

In the recent past, plastering slopes was the preferred way to finish the window and door openings. And although today there are many alternative options, this classic method has not lost its popularity, and sometimes it can not be avoided without it (for example, plaster is indispensable for finishing the slopes of arched windows).

Plaster of slopes has a number of advantages:

  • Strength and durability (resistance to mechanical stress and long service life);
  • Aesthetics (absence of fringing and joints);
  • Ecological compatibility (absence of harmful effect on the human body);
  • Versatility (unlike other materials, it is possible to make a slope of any width and shape from plaster mixes);
  • Integrity of the structure (the solution fills all the cracks);
  • Simplicity of repair and updating (it is easy to repair small damages and chips, to recolour in other color).

The disadvantages of plaster slopes include:

  • The complexity of their manufacture (several stages of the process), as a consequence - considerable time expenditure;
  • The manufacturing process is quite "dirty";
  • Occurrence of cracks in places of abutment of a slope to a window (it is solved by means of hermetic).

Plaster of slopes of windows is carried out taking into account the following recommendations:

  • First install windows and plaster walls, and then plastering slopes;
  • Windows and accessories are protected with a polyethylene film, fixing it with paint tape;
  • Establish a beacon in the corner of the slope (throw a solution, the lighthouse is pressed into the necessary depth by the plaster level);
  • Set the rack-rule from the wall (the rail is fixed with the clamps to the wall, setting the vertical level);
  • If necessary, install a metal angled profile;
  • The angle of the turn of the left and right slopes should be the same;
  • With a large layer of plaster used plaster mesh ;
  • Use a lime or sand-cement mortar, or ready-made plaster mixes;
  • All slopes are made according to the level, beating off the vertical and horizontal;
  • After application, the solution is cut with a rod or a special template;
  • After the slope has dried, the rule-rule is removed; The remaining cavities and irregularities are rubbed with grater;
  • Ready-made slopes can be puttyped and painted after the plaster has dried completely.
