Cement solution: composition and fabrication

Cement mortar is a very strong material, it quickly seizes and hardens in the air. The beginning of its setting at a temperature of +20 degrees occurs in about three quarters of an hour. The solution must be applied no later than an hour after its preparation, otherwise it loses its strength. There are different brands of cement - it depends on its components. The solutions prepared on their basis have different compressive strengths.

How to make a cement slurry

To prepare cement mortar, sand and cement must be sieved through a sieve with a hole diameter of 3 mm. The ingredients are measured with volumetric doses and mixed until a uniform consistency is obtained, and if necessary re-sifted and water is added to the dry mixture until the desired density is obtained.

For laying pipes above the roof, a more complex cement slurry is made, consisting of a filler and two knitting components: sand, lime paste and cement. In this case, it will be necessary to add up to three parts of lime and up to 15 parts of sand per part of the cement.

Cement mortar is used for the preparation of concrete mixtures. The laid fresh concrete is covered with shavings or matting, densely wetting with water. Especially it is worth doing in the first five days after laying in the formwork, for this purpose, also apply polyethylene film, which creates a steam effect.

Cement solution: composition

Cement mortar for construction can be purchased or manufactured independently, mixing cement and sand in certain proportions (from 1 to 3, depending on the brand, to 1 to 6). It must be remembered that manually making a solution is not only tedious, but it is practically impossible to distribute all components evenly without appropriate experience. It is more practical to use a concrete mixer (mechanical or electric), which you can both buy and rent, borrow from friends.

Very demanded is the cement mortar, which is used for brickwork. For this, two types of solutions can be used: cement and cement-lime solutions. With the help of the first type, the bearing walls and other elements are erected, the second one is used for some types of work (masonry of internal walls), and only a small part of the cement is added to it.

If the masonry solution is to be used in the winter, then antifreeze additives should be used , which will not allow the solution to freeze. And yet at a temperature below 20 degrees below zero, it is better not to make the cement mass, since these components stop working. With the help of various additives, the solution can also be given the necessary plasticity and mobility. To increase the plasticity of the solution, professionals add a normal shampoo, pouring half a liter of this ingredient into a cubic meter of cement mass. Salt as a antifreeze additive, despite numerous recommendations, should not be poured in order to avoid the appearance of high temperatures.

Concrete heat-resistant mixtures are also produced from cement, which are used for making structures of monolithic fires with open fire, for firemen or blocks for laying ovens. The following components and proportions are used to create fire-resistant heat-resistant solutions. If the mortar is to be used to create hotbeds with open fire, take a cement grade of at least 400. To one part of it, add two pieces of rubble, consisting of red brick, two parts of quartz sand or thin red brick and one third of fine chamotte sand. To create a firebox, take the same cement, crushed stone from brick, ordinary and chamotte sand in a proportion of 1: 2: 2: 0.33.
