In 2012, Pyotr Pavlensky created a magazine about political propaganda, which he dedicated to contemporary art in the context of politics. Important was the good attitude of the publication to feminism and the gender issue. The purpose of the magazine was to overcome cultural chauvinism, which implants the state and the apparatus of its ideology.

Creativity Pavlensky

The paintings of contemporary artists reflect political and other problems through the prism of art. Art is the work with meanings and with the form of expression of these meanings.

Paintings of Pavlensky Peter touched on various problems. The artist's early works were photographs and collages. Already during his studies Pavlensky was interested in social problems and the human body as their solution. The project "Cartography" is designed in the form of photographs of scars on bare human bodies, and was aimed at combating violence. Scars in the form of crosses society perceived as an insult to the faith, and the paintings were asked to withdraw from the exhibition or replace them with others.

On the Victory Day of 2012 at the exhibition Pavlensky acquainted all those present with a series headed by a fictional hero protodeacon - a symbol of anarchism and inconsistency of the information policy of the church. The artist-propagandist showed how the church climbs out of its way. Pavlensky, realizing that he would not be allowed to show the protodeacon, hid his whole idea from the administration of the exhibition hall before the exhibition.

However, soon the institutional art bothered the artist. The artist Pyotr Pavlensky was on the sidelines and spoke from a third party. He decided to go out to actionism and became a man who took responsibility for what is happening.

Shares held by the artist

"The seam"

Peter Pavlensky gained fame thanks to the action in support of the group "Pussy Riot". In July 2012, the artist with a sewn mouth for an hour and a half stood near the Kazan Cathedral with a poster on which there was an inscription about overacting the action of Jesus Christ. The police took the artist to a psychiatrist, but he recognized him as sane and released. His behavior Pavlensky explained that he wanted to show a ban on publicity to the modern artist.

"Carcass"

In the spring of 2013, Pyotr Pavlensky organized a protest action against the unfair government policy in the Russian Federation under the name "Tusha". A half-bent and naked artist, wrapped in a "cocoon" made of barbed wire, lay in front of the building of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg.

Later Pavlensky explained that there are many laws against people who intimidate them. As if being driven into a barbed wire. All this is done for the transformation of society into limp cattle, which has the right to exercise only mechanical actions.

"Fixation"

In November 2013, Pyotr Pavlensky nailed the scrotum to the paving stone with a nail. According to Pavlensky, the action became a metaphor for apathy, political indifference and fatalism of society.

On the artist started a case of hooliganism, but after a day released in connection with the erroneously drafted protocol. Later, for this escapade, the artist brought another case.

The action was actively discussed by society and the professional environment.

Group action "Freedom"

In February 2014, Pyotr Pavlensky became a very famous participant in the group action "Freedom". The action was devoted to collective liberation, therefore it was carried out by a collective entity.

At eight o'clock on the bridge were brought fifty car tires, metal sheets, as well as the black and blue-yellow flag of Ukraine. From the tires, the protesters gathered a barricade and set it on fire.

The action is a symbol of the struggle for freedom. The participants of the rally called on everyone to stand up for the holiday of the Defense of Freedom.

The action lasted 20 minutes and ended after the arrival of firefighters. The police detained four protesters, among whom was Pyotr Pavlensky.

The action "Branch"

In October 2014, Peter Pavlensky naked sat on the fence of the Institute of Psychiatry in Moscow and cut off his earlobe. The action is a protest against the use of psychiatric interventions for policy purposes. According to the artist, as a knife separates the lobe with an ear, so politicians determine the difference between insane and reasonable people. The psychiatric wall helps them in this. Bureaucrats in white coats cut off from society extra pieces that interfere with their normal world.

The actions of the artist Pavlensky is a game with the audience, which is transferred to political ground. Actionism enriches the world with new elements, which it so lacks. It resembles a riot and preserves an irrational will, framed by thoughtful actions. Vienna actionism and Van Gogh are the predecessors of Pavlensky's actionism.

The attitude of society towards the works of Pavlensky

Pavlensky's works are of interest to the artistic community. The paintings of contemporary artists are often ahead of the critics and have a problematic-symbolic character.

Critics-liberals were enthusiastic about the artist. Two shares Pavlensky in St. Petersburg reflect the distinctness and laconism of art. The actions of the artist are plastic expressive, this is often not enough for other activists who are trying to use the avant-garde performance.

The liberals explain Pavlensky's behavior in that he is trying to create a cultural society through the media. In other words, its shares can be called artistic. And you can not punish them because it would be an attempt on freedom of speech. The artist has the right to self-expression.

On the Internet, you can find lectures for beginning actionists or for people interested in this issue. There, too, explains the nature of expressionism, conceptualism and performance.

Russia creates for its new art, the liberals have already found the right heroes.

Nadezhda Tolokonnikova explained that Pavlensky acts on the brink of art and politics, which puts critics in a new position for them.

Valentin Dyakonov expressed a negative opinion on Pavlenskiy's shares. He believes that terrible and radical gestures can not pay attention to the problems of society, one can only create a PR in this way and raise violence to one more level.

In October 2013 Pyotr Pavlensky's action "Tusha" was awarded an alternative prize "Russian art of activists-2013" - a diploma dedicated to the memory of Georgy Dorokhov in the section "Shares sold in the city space".
