History of the "Pearls of Siberia"

"Pearl of Siberia" (Tyumen), a photo of which is presented in this article, begins its history in 1975. It was then that A.N. Melnikov, the senior coach in the Tyumen region, explored the elevations and relief of Butusov's log and the natural boundary of the Red Hill. It turned out that the terrain is suitable for creating complex but interesting ski runs. As a result, they were laid. And in the period from 1976 to 1992, the territory began to conduct training camps, championships and championships.

In 1987, it was planned to begin construction of a ski base, but it was temporarily frozen. And the authorities returned to the project only in 2005, at the initiative of SL Usoltsev, the president of the ski federation in the Tyumen region. In 2006, experts concluded that the area is suitable for the competition, and construction of the base began.

Description of the sports complex

In 2007 the construction was completed. And the complex was named Biathlon Center "Pearl of Siberia" (Tyumen). It has administrative and service buildings. There are team and guest houses and a hotel. On the territory of the center there is a ski-biathlon stadium and trails. They are equipped with artificial snow making and lighting. There is covered parking, landscaped territory and a garage for special equipment.
