Osteoporosis - Causes and Symptoms

Disease of bone tissue, in which there is increased brittle bone fragility, is called osteoporosis. In such patients, even minor injuries can cause fractures of the bones. Most of this disease affects women, as osteoporosis is rapidly developing when hormonal imbalance in the climacteric period. This is not only a lack of calcium in the body, but also the malfunctioning of building bone cells. Women in the menopause should carefully consider the intake of various hormonal drugs. All of them must be prescribed by a doctor after a preliminary examination, since many synthetic corticosteroids adversely affect the composition of bones and lead to the development of osteoporosis. In addition, this disease develops with problems with digestion, with prolonged smoking, alcohol intake, metabolic disorders and the corresponding heredity. Also one of the reasons is a sedentary lifestyle, a lack of vitamin D and age-related changes in bone tissue. Many live with the symptoms of the disease for many years and do not even suspect that they have such a disease as osteoporosis. What it is? And how to determine its development? The first sign of the progression of the disease will be frequent fractures of the bones. But the correct diagnosis of the patient can be made only after X-ray examinations and special tests, such as, for example, densitometry.

Degrees of osteoporosis

It is very important to identify the disease in the initial stages to prevent its further development. There are three degrees of the disease "osteoporosis". What is it, we will tell here in more detail. Most often the disease affects a single department of the musculoskeletal system. So, at the first degree, the X-ray shows the onset of bone tissue destruction, depletion of the bone bars. The second degree is characterized by severe osteoporosis, which is accompanied by a constant aching pain, which gives off to the parts of the spinal column and the region of the lower limbs. At this degree, the bone crossbars are significantly depleted, the lubricant is lost, large areas are found with no bone tissue. The third stage is the heaviest, accompanied by constant sharp pains. In this case, almost all bones of the skeleton are affected by osteoporosis - huge cavities are formed in them and there is a complete absence of bone beams.

Prevention and treatment

What it is, you need to know everyone, especially the female half of humanity, since proper prevention and control of your health will help to avoid major health problems in old age.
