Orungal. Instructions

Orungal is an antifungal drug. The medication is available in tablet form and in the form of a solution for internal use.

"Orungal" instruction characterizes as a means with a wide range of effects, capable of inhibiting (reducing the rate) synthesis of ergosterol in the membrane of the fungal cell. This also determines the antifungal effect of the drug. The active ingredient is itraconazole.

The drug after intake is absorbed well enough. The active ingredient actively penetrates into the tissues. In the lungs, liver, kidneys, stomach, bones, muscles, spleen, itraconazole concentrations are two to three times higher than in plasma. The ratio of the content of the component in plasma and brain tissues is approximately the same.

The drug "Orungal" instruction recommends the use in the treatment of candidiasis in the oral cavity or esophagus in patients with immunodeficiency and HIV-positive patients. The medication is also indicated for the prevention of systemic fungal infections in individuals with blood pathologies of a malignant nature or in the transplantation of bone marrow with a high risk of neutropenia.

The drug "Orungal" in tableted form is used in the treatment of mycoses (including systemic ones), provoked by sensitive microorganisms, candidiasis of the esophagus and oral cavity, vulvovaginal candidiasis, dermatomycosis, fungal keratitis. The drug is also prescribed for pityriasis, caused by yeast or dermatophytes, onychomycosis.

With candidiasis of the esophagus and oral cavity, the recommended dosage of the drug is two-dimensional (200 mg) cup per day once or twice a week. If there is no result, the treatment continues next week. With resistance (resistance) to fluconazole for these diseases, 200-400 mg per day is recommended in one or two doses for two weeks. If the result is not observed after the expiration of the recommended period, the treatment continues for another two weeks.

In order to prevent fungal infections of a systemic nature, the drug is prescribed at 5 mg per kilogram of body weight per day. The medication should be started one week prior to the initiation of cytostatic therapy or one week after the transplantation of the brain (bone marrow). In this case, treatment is continued until the number of neutrophils is restored.

Admission of the solution inside is recommended on an empty stomach. The drug is rinsed and swallowed. Rinse with water after use should not be.

Orungal (tablets) is drunk after eating. Capsules are swallowed whole. In accordance with the indications, a dosage is prescribed. As a rule, one or two capsules per day are recommended. The duration of use will depend on the severity of the symptoms.

The drug Orungal is not recommended for lactation and pregnancy. Use in these periods is not well understood. In some clinical studies, there have been individual anomalies in fetal development. At the same time, the association of the disorders with the use of the drug was not established reliably.

It was revealed that the active ingredient is excreted with the lactating milk. If you need treatment during lactation, feeding should be stopped.

To the contra-indications for the use of Orungal medication the instruction refers to hypersensitivity, simultaneous application of separate groups of medicines.

In case of kidney failure, elderly patients, children, with cirrhosis of the liver, heart failure of the chronic course, the medication should be administered with caution.
