Origami from modules for beginners

Origami from the modules allows you to create from paper figures of any complexity, size and configuration. It's like a designer, only every detail is done by hand, and the details of these are sometimes very, very much required. But what is the result! Almost live animals and birds, stunning flowers, buildings and structures, even toys - which the master of origami from simple triangles does not do.

In order to learn origami from the modules, it does not take much time. The main thing is to learn how to assemble the module itself. It's best to see how experienced masters do it, or just find a video on the Internet, where everything is shown slowly and with explanations on the fingers. After the details are obtained well, you can select the scheme. Modular origami is often collected in multi-tiered circles. By adding and subtracting elements on each next tier, the figure is expanded or narrowed, respectively. Also, the details of the figure can be separated and terminated independently, as, for example, the wings of birds, branches of a tree, etc.

The first step in creating origami from modules is the production of the module itself. To create it, you need a rectangle of paper, which is 1/16 or 1/32 of a sheet of A4 paper. In other words, from 1 album sheet will come 16 or 32 modules, depending on the size of the future figure. To make the figure more elegant, it is better to make details from rectangles of smaller format, dividing the short side of the sheet into 4 parts, and dividing the long side by 8.

Fold the rectangle in half in width so that it becomes 2 times narrower. Now once again in half, but already along the length. Mark the fold line and straighten it. Then to this line, that is, to the middle, crouch one of the upper edges to the corner, it is very similar to the assembly of the ship's paper. Then bend the second edge. Parts of the sides will protrude above the main part by a few millimeters. They need to be bent backwards, and the corners remaining to stick out - inside. Now we have a regular isosceles triangle, which left only to be folded in half along the central fold line, which is already outlined. Fold so that on the outer corner of the module formed 2 pockets.

When several modules are ready, try to connect them: the corners of one are inserted into the pockets of the other two, and thus shapes are formed. Sometimes they are fixed on glue, sometimes - no, it all depends on the master's preferences.

Making origami from the modules requires a preliminary calculation of the amount of detail of a particular color, but the whole beauty of this activity is that you can always change the idea as you work, remake some part without losing quality. Of course, this is possible only if in the process of collecting you do not glue the details to each other. It is better to take a thick paper, not thinner than 80 grams per square meter, and choose a two-sided color one - it has both the front and the underside sides, it's much more convenient to work.

Approaches to familiarize yourself with the practice of modular origami scheme "Christmas tree of modules."

  1. Lower tier. The base consists of 15 modules, assembled in a circle: 7 (inside), on which are strung with pockets 8 (outside). Then, for each pair of 8 external ones, one more incomplete pair of modules is added, so that at the base there are 5 rays and it begins to resemble a snowflake. Next, each ray is built up to the size that is necessary for the idea.
  2. Adapter. Gathered as the very beginning of the tier, consists of 2 rows or 15 modules.
  3. The second level. Gathered as the first, but smaller diameter.
  4. Adapter.
  5. The third tier ...

Next, you need to type a sufficient number of tiers-snowflakes, the topmost consists of 6 or 8 modules.

There is a Christmas tree on a wooden skewer stuck in a hard and heavy base, for example, a flower pot filled with plasticine. The star is fastened to the very top, also from plasticine or from paper.
