Limit switches: safety of any process

The limit switches have the main purpose - the switching of electrical circuits in alarms, in control processes and control devices, where the object is checked for mobility. In systems, devices, structures, where control of the movement of individual elements is required, a limit switch is usually installed. The principle of operation of such a device is as follows:

• The device is triggered by contact with the limiter, and the power supply to the mechanism in which this device is installed is cut off. Regardless of the method of connection and configuration of contacts, the end elements are reliable and are guaranteed to cope with the tasks. That is why the design is installed in hazardous areas.
• When contacting the movable mechanisms in the device of the limit switch, a danger signal is generated simultaneously with the action on the electric circuit. Limit switches are a common sensor with a self-switching system - a circuit breaker.

Limit switches have not only reliability of work and high protective properties, but also are produced in a different model range, which expands the scope of their application. Important is their ease of use during the operation phase. At the same time, the installation of circuit breakers does not require any special difficulties in the performance of the work and any electrician can do it.

Structure of the limit switch

Despite the large number of brands and types of switches, they all have high strength of the case, which is created from an aluminum-silicon alloy, which makes it possible for the device to:

- be immune to the chemical environment, salt solutions, evaporation and other destructive effects from the outside;

- the body is corrosion-resistant, which prolongs the life of the device.

Sensors of the switch are made of bright-colored LEDs that allow you to see the triggering of the sensor. The power connection is made by connecting the connector to the electrical circuit. At the heart of the device are two types of contacts - open and closed. In this case, closed contacts check the correct connection of the breaker, and open - conduct a signal after the switch is triggered by movement.

Despite the model and the manufacturer, such parts remain unchanged in the structure: the housing cover, the housing itself, the head and contacts.

The end switch is used in areas where there is a high probability of danger to human life or damage to the production process, destruction, etc. Its small size allows the use of a switch in small-sized technology. Limit switches were widely used in the oil refining industry and in oil production and transportation, chemical plants, factories, production plants in metallurgy, mining, engineering, energy, food and other fields.
