Optimum distance between fence poles from corrugated board

The fence from the proflist is easy to build with your own hands. To build the fence passed without overlap, it is necessary to provide in advance all the technical points. The basis of the fence - supporting pillars and logs, this is the most time consuming part of the work. The maximum possible distance between the poles of the fence from the corrugated board will significantly reduce the cost of the fence. At the same time, too long runs will make it difficult to mount the corrugated board on the crate and reduce the strength of the structure. The optimal distance between the fence poles is about 2.5 meters. Depending on the design features of the fence, this figure may vary in one direction or another, but not more than 3 meters.

What materials do the poles for the fence do?

The distance between the fence posts depends on the material and method of mounting the supports. The stronger the pillars are installed, the greater the distance between them. Also, the distance is reduced if the height of the fence is 2.5 meters or more.

The greatest load-bearing strength is provided by brick supports for fence. Also erected fencing using a metal pipe, metal profile or on piles.

Pillars must be placed in the corners of the site and in places where the fence changes direction. Mark the pegs of the location of the supports, between them stretch the rope, in violation of a straight line level. They plan a gate and a gate.

Brick supports

Brick columns as a support look beautiful, are not subject to corrosion, they do not need to be painted. This solid construction requires the erection of a solid foundation, otherwise a skewed fence is possible.

For the masonry base, pipes with a diameter of 57 mm or 2 - 4 bars of thick reinforcement are used. The distance between the fence posts from the corrugated board in the finished form will be 2.6 meters, and between the pipes - 3 meters. It is better to make supports from facing bricks - it looks more profitable. Expenses are planned, based on a calculation of 80 pieces per column.

How to make a foundation for brick pillars

Under the fence with brick posts, a concrete foundation with a width of 0.6 m is arranged. The recess into the ground is not less than 0.5 m plus 20 cm sand cushion. The protruding part is 25-30 cm in height. It can be made of concrete or laid out of bricks, in the future, the cladding with natural stone, tiles, plastering or painting.

To protect the edges of the profiled sheet from below and from the sides provide a groove in the base and in the posts. In columns it is more difficult to do. You can use half brick for laying. After mounting the corrugated board to the lag, the grooves are cemented with cement.

Dig a trench, depending on what distance between the fence posts are installed metal pipes (the usual figure is 3 meters). They are digging to a depth below the freezing level of 25-30 cm. Then, 2 layers of roofing material are laid in the trench for waterproofing the foundation. Knit a frame of reinforcement 10 mm thick at a distance of 5 cm from the edges of the pit. Install the formwork, pour concrete M300. Control the supports on the plumb line.

If there are ground changes on the site, then the foundation band is divided into segments with a difference in height of 10 cm.

The construction of columns of brick

Brick poles under the fence of corrugated board are laid in a width of one and a half or two bricks.
Their height is from 2 to 3 meters, on top the masonry is covered with metal caps or cement slope. During the laying, metal fences are installed to secure the lags. The distance between poles of fence made from corrugated board with brick poles in the final version is 2.6 meters. This is taken into account when cutting the profile of the crate and selecting the width of the sheet.

Supports from metal pipe

A round metal tube with a diameter of 60 mm is used, the metal thickness is 2 mm. For a high fence it is convenient to take pipes of 11 meters and cut them into three parts.

The length of the length of the pipe for the support is equal to the height of the fence plus half of it for the underground part. If the fence is 2 meters high, then 1 meter of support goes under the ground, the total length of the length of the pipe will be 3 meters. In this case, the distance between poles of the fence from the corrugated board can be made maximum - 3 meters, and even a little more (depending on the layout on the ground).

It is recommended to prepare the surface of the supports and lags in advance - to clean with a brush mounted on the Bulgarian, to treat with anti-rust and paint.

Installation of supports from a metal pipe

Previously, pipes from above must be welded or installed other plugs, so that atmospheric precipitation does not fall. If you weld on the bottom edge of the pipe cross from the reinforcement, then the stability of the support will increase.

Install the corner poles, stretch the twine at a distance of 30 cm from the ground and on the top. Mark the place for the pits under the poles under the fence of corrugated board. The pits are made by manual or electric drill to a depth of 1-1.5 m in diameter of 30 cm. It is recommended to wrap the walls with roofing felt - so the earth will not crumble. This will also protect the deformations from soil subsidence: the soil will slide along the ruberoid.

At the bottom pour rubble or gravel - 20 cm, install a pillar (it should not pierce the pillow, otherwise corrosion is possible) and fill the concrete mortar with ¾ depth. Align the support with a plumb line, pile up with pieces of bricks, top up. If there is a slight skew, then you can even out until the concrete is frozen. Concreate level with the ground, and even better to make the formwork 40-60 mm and raise the upper part above the ground.

Composition of concrete: 1 part of cement, 4 parts of sand, 4 parts of rubble, 4 parts of water.

The final hardening of the solution occurs within a week. Only after this they begin the installation of the crate.

If the precipitation is small (the annual norm is up to 300 mm), the soil is sandy loam or loamy, then it is possible to do without concreting. The pipe is dug in one third, wrapping with a roofing felt or pouring with melted bitumen. The ground is poured in portions of 20-25 cm, thoroughly ramming each layer.

In the summer version, it is possible to build a fence made of corrugated board with poles made from a non-pressure asbestos cement pipe with a diameter of 100 mm. Its length is 3.95 m. Cutting in half, get two bars. The material is cheap, but brittle.

Poles for fence from profiled sheet from metal profile

Use the profile 60x60. Its length is 6 m and more, so you should take care of the delivery method in advance. Install the supports from the metal profile as well as from the pipe. The advantage of it is that it is easier to mount lags on it, you can make a butt joint. This is more aesthetically pleasing, the strength of such a construction is increased by fastening the profil sheet to the pole.

On the market are sold ready poles for proflist from a local manufacturer: They have already muffled the top, welded heel (can be put on a sand cushion), there are paws for lags with holes. The price is comparable to the price of the profile plus the cost of welding. The diameter of the pit for such supports will be two sides of the thrust bearing, and the distance between the pillars of the fence can be made 2.5-3 meters.

Installation of the fence from the profiled sheet on piles

Ready piles for the foundation are expensive: 2000-2500 rubles apiece. But if you suddenly get a used material, then the best supports can not be found. Their strength is very high, there are no costs for concreting and excavation. What is the distance between the fence posts on the screw piles? Again, it all depends on the height of the structure. With a fence height of 2.5 m, it is not possible to do too large runs, since the fence of the profiled sheet has a very large sail.

Option for craftsmen - homemade piles. A pipe of the required length is flattened at the end in a spear. From a sheet of steel with a thickness of 3 mm, an autogen cut out a ring into three pipe diameters. Inside, cut a circle the size of a pipe diameter plus 15%, cut the groove, dilute it into a screw and weld onto the pointed end of the pipe.

Edging of the battens

After solidification of concrete proceed to the installation of the crate. The logs can be wooden or metal. Logs of wood are short-lived and have less strength. Therefore, let us consider the crate of metal in detail. Apply a profile of 30x30 or 40x20 (fixed flat side to the fence), the thickness of the metal is 1.5-2 mm. Sometimes use a metal corner, but it is inconvenient to mount a corrugated sheet.

If the height of the fence is up to 2 m - plan 2 lags, above - 3 lags. The distance between the lags is about 1.6 m, from the top and bottom edges of the fence retreat 20 cm. If the distance between poles of the fence is 3 m, then it is better to weld the profile not from above, but between the supports. This increases the strength of the structure and gives the fence a more aesthetic appearance.

Anticorrosion treatment is also better performed after cutting lags, before welding. It is possible and after, but it is more laborious. In any case, the welding places are cleaned and painted. If you perform the installation of the lath without welding - bolted, the strength of the structure will be lower.

Mounting of the profiled sheet

The distance between the fence poles from the corrugated board should be taken into account when choosing a corrugated board. For the fence take the wall profiled sheet S8, C10, C20, C21. The most demanded sheet is C15 - it is cut without an upward wave, so it is convenient to combine it. The width of the standard rolled steel from 800 to 1850, the most running 1100 - 1180, length (height) 1440-3000, to order can be up to 4500 - will cost more.

The thickness of the metal from 0.35 mm to 1.2 mm, it is recommended to use a profiled sheet with a thickness of at least 0.5 mm. On average, developers purchase material 0.6-0.7 mm.

The height of the bottom edge of the fence from the ground is 15 cm. If the surface of the site is uneven, then the drops of 10-15 cm are performed. Mount the sheets with overlapping in one wave, fasten 1-2 waves (if less often - to rattle in the wind), or 20- 25 cm, in the profile hollow.

Mounting is performed using self-tapping screws with a screwdriver or rivets (pre-drilled holes) using a rivet gun. Rivets are identical to self-tapping screws, only gray, but this design can not be disassembled.

How to extend the life of the fence from the corrugated board

For corrosion protection, a metal profile is also installed from below and from above. It, as well as a metal crate and supports will have to be painted about once every 3-5 years. Otherwise, corrosion will make itself felt. Alas, the only way to not paint fences - brick poles. Of corrugated board do not only fences, because it is inexpensive and fairly solid material. Keeping accurate when installing the sheet, you will save yourself from the need for preventive maintenance in the future. Use self-tapping screws with an EPDM gasket to protect the sheet from damage. During the installation, paint the scratched areas with paint from the can. Also, in the future, regularly handle the scratches that occurred during the operation.

The fence made of corrugated board, built with all the recommendations, does not require special care in the future and will last for several decades.
