Openwork edging knitting: patterns and description of the pattern for triangular shawls

Knitting the rim with knitting needles is a very specific job, which is necessary for decorating a wide variety of products: from dresses and skirts to shawls and scarves.

A border is called a narrow canvas with a pattern that differs from the main part. There are two ways that the rim can be knitted with spokes (the diagrams and descriptions of each of them have their own specifics). First: several long rows form a longitudinal web. Second: by means of a large number of short rows a transverse rim is formed.

Knitting needles for shawls: how to place a pattern

Many models of shawls and shawls have a central (or main) part and a decorative (binding).

At the same time for the execution of the main part of the master are often used some simple pattern. The main decoration of such products is the strapping, which is knitted in parallel with the central piece or performed separately and then sewed.

A shawl can be any geometric figure:

  • Rectangle or long strip.
  • Square.
  • Triangle.

The openwork fringe, knitted with the needles, is arranged as follows:

  • Along one side of the product.
  • Near two sides (one corner is formed).
  • Attached to all sides of the shawl (three or four corners).

Angles (usually, they are equal to 90 degrees) are formed by comparing two stripes of the pattern, whose edges are cut at an angle of 45 degrees.

Angle Forming: Methods and Options

Depending on the knitter's skill and the features of the model chosen by her, she can take advantage of one of the three methods of forming corners on a knitted fabric:

  1. Bind two pieces whose edges will be symmetrically skewed at an angle of 45 degrees. This effect is achieved by reducing or adding one loop (at the beginning or end of the row) in each second row.
  2. Start knitting a long rim, mark a loop in the center, and perform cuts of one P in each second P before and after the marked P. The cloth will be cut by 2 P in each second P, and eventually the desired angle will be formed.
  3. Start work with several P, mark the central one and add one P in each second P before and after the marked P. The canvas will expand by 2 P in every second P, and this will also result in the formation of a right angle.

Of course, all these tricks are not needed, if you create a rim with knitting needles, the schemes and the description of which already provide for all the additions and cuts. Many designers provide models with ready-made instructions. Below are the schemes, following which, you can quickly and easily connect the fishnet strip.

Crochet triangle knitting

The model, the photograph of which is located at the beginning of the article, has a fairly dense central part and a beautiful openwork border along two sides.

To form the main part, you need to dial seven spokes on the spokes and mark with the central marker.

Then they work as follows:

  • Take off the edge P, make a crochet (H).
  • Two P face faces.
  • Make H, bind the marked P and perform another N.
  • Crochet two P.
  • Make H and tie the last p.
  • The second and all even rows are knitted by facial P.
  • The third and all odd series are knitted in such a way that the number of П increases by four elements.

As a result of tying H, openwork openings will be obtained. If the master wants to avoid such an effect, she should form new P from the broaches between neighboring P.

When the triangle is ready, the edge, which will not be decorated with a border, should be tied with a crochet (several rows of columns without a crochet).

Border knitting: patterns and description of knitting triangle shawls

The first scheme, according to which it is necessary to knit the rim, is designated A.1. It requires a set of 27 loops to create the first row. The figure shows that the canvas will shrink from the right and expand with the left. As a result, the craftsman will receive the detail for the right side of the shawl.

On the right side of the rim, protruding denticles will also be placed.

Further knitting of the rim with knitting needles will continue according to the scheme A.2. Here already there is a full openwork pattern, a rhombus, and denticles on the right side. Continuing work on the border, you should repeat the rapport pattern A.2.

To form a corner, the master must turn to A.3. Here is shown the transition from the rim for one side of the shawl to the canvas for the second side.

Further work should be carried out, being guided by the scheme A.4. Repeats repeat the same number of times as the pattern according to scheme A.2.

Complete the knitting of the fringe according to the scheme A.5. The openwork strip is ready, now it can be sewn neatly to the triangle connected earlier.

What to do if the sizes of the canvas do not match

When the knitting is knitted with spokes, the diagrams and description of which are similar to those given in this article, there may be a run-up in size. In the process of assembling the product, the craftsman can find out that the fringes are denser than the side of the shawl to which the fringes should be sewn. This defect is easily eliminated by fixing the basic details of the shawl.

In the case when the triangle, on the other hand, has too long faces, it should be slightly dissolved and the hinges re-closed. In other words, some adjustment is required.

In those cases where the openwork fringe is performed in parallel with the main part, there is no such problem.
