Therapeutic exercises with coxarthrosis

Aching in the groin, giving in the thigh and knee, especially when you need to get out of bed or chairs, limited mobility of the legs, it is difficult to put on shoes or socks. These are all symptoms of problems with the hip joint. The solution is therapeutic gymnastics with hip coxarthrosis.

Briefly about the disease

Coxarthrosis (deforming arthrosis) is a pathological degenerative joint disease, which is accompanied by severe pain in the area of the affected area, with recoil into the nearby muscles.
The cartilage dries up and crackles, the formation of new fibers breaks down and there is a limitation in the amplitude of the movements, and with time or in the absence of treatment the mobility of the joints is completely lost. They grow together, and a person becomes disabled. This is one of the most common pathologies of the musculoskeletal system.

Structure of the joint

The hip joint refers to simple joints. It is formed of only two interacting bones: the ball-shaped head of the femur is inserted into the acetabulum of the ileum of the pelvis, and together they form a kind of hinge, thanks to which the human body performs a variety of movements. Both these interacting bones in the place of contact are covered with cartilage, which, like a soft sponge, absorbs a periarticular fluid, which is a lubricant to prevent friction of the bones.

Causes of the disease

The most common cause is injury. From 10 to 20% of all clinical cases of coxarthrosis occurs because of a previous injury: the leg has turned up, the knee has hurt, the ankle tendons have stretched - these are all provocateurs of the disease, which can occur 5, 10, and even 15 years after injury.

Approximately one third of cases is a systematic overload on the joint. Runners, soccer players, and heavy athletes are very often affected by this disease after 35 years, as well as people whose work is related to lifting weights - loaders, livestock keepers. Often elderly people suffer because of the dryness of interarticulate fluid and thinning of cartilage, and also people with excess weight, whose joint load is increased 250 times compared to a thin person.

There is also a factor of congenital anomaly of the head of the hip joint - if it is found, it is recommended that from childhood to engage in therapeutic gymnastics. With coxarthrosis, it is extremely important to continue to move, and, despite the uncomfortable sensations, not to allow stagnant phenomena in the periarticular tissues.

A very significant provoker of the development of the disease are long-term stresses, impaired metabolism and malnutrition. Also, coxarthrosis can develop against a background of menopause and age-related changes in the body.

Joint gymnastics

How to choose therapeutic gymnastics with coxarthrosis? You can start with the simplest movements of the joints: rotation of the shoulders, neck, elbows and ankles joints, as well as the axis of the spine. There are several options that can be found in the description or video. Sukshma-vyayama is very useful. This is gymnastics for joints by the method of yoga.

On the basis of this system Norbekov created his own version of the development of the joints of the whole body. All of them are very similar in principle to the action and the technique of execution and are considered very useful in any disease of the musculoskeletal system.

An important role is played by the binding of breath to movement; You need in time to try to synchronize them, so that not only a set of mechanical movements, and conscious gymnastics. Coxarthrosis of the 2nd degree responds very positively to exercises of this nature; You only need to choose those that do not deliver pronounced pain.

Basic complex of exercises №1

The most basic medical gymnastics with coxarthrosis can be performed with a chair as a simulator, each exercise should be repeated at least ten times

  • Sitting on a chair with a straight back and tight knees, you should try to spread the heels to the maximum available opening angle.

  • Just sitting and spreading the hips to the width of the shoulders, trying to tear off the heels from the floor, without removing the toes.
  • Bending knees and lifting up to a possible height. In this case, you need to watch, so that your hands are not involved in the action. It is not necessary to rest on a chair or support a leg. It is better to do less, but in good faith. Gymnastics with coxarthrosis of the second degree does not tolerate hackwork, otherwise the relief will not come. Also this exercise can be done standing and lying on the back.
  • Pull the straight arms up and make small torso inclinations to the sides. In this case, make sure that the pelvis is sitting tight and not fidgeting on the seat of the chair.
  • Compression of the internal muscles of the pelvis and buttocks without changing the position of the body. You can do it anywhere and in the body position. Try to keep the compression from 20 seconds, gradually adding time.
  • Standing, to rest your hands in the back of a chair or sitting (as it is convenient), put your feet to the width of your shoulders and spread your feet to the sides as far as possible. Do small soft sit-ups without bending your back. Gymnastics with coxarthrosis of the hip involves tracking not only the position of the pelvis, but also the spine, since they are deeply interconnected by the internal muscles.

Complex of exercises number 2

If the initial gymnastics with coxarthrosis number 1 is given easily, then it is possible to proceed to movements more complicated.

  • Lying on the back with legs bent on the floor, set to the width of the shoulders (it is important to put the feet strictly parallel to each other), try to lift the pelvis towards the ceiling, trying to stay for a couple of seconds at the top.

  • Lying on your back, bend your legs and spread your knees to the sides, pressing your soles against each other, then join your knees.
  • Lying on a flat side, leaning his elbow on the floor and trying to lift his leg sideways, also trying to fix the upper position.
  • Lying on his stomach and spreading his legs across the width of his shoulders, put his hands under his head (to rest his forehead) and try to lift his hips into the air. You can either one or two at a time, you can simulate swimming. It will also be useful to move your legs to the sides by weight. Make 8 times for each exercise exercise option. Coxarthrosis of the 2nd degree reacts very well to movements of this kind.
  • Movement of the legs with the imitation of riding a bicycle: immediately forward, then back, from 12 times to each option.
  • Take a small ball or book, clamp between the knees and try to squeeze, using the internal muscles of the thighs. If possible, keep at least 20-30 seconds.
  • Firmly rest on the waist and bent legs on the floor, raise the upper part of the trunk, using the muscles of the press and fix the position as possible while still breathing.

Any gymnastics with hip coxarthrosis is, first of all, attentiveness to sensations, the mechanics of movement and awareness of what is being done and why. Of course, immediately you can not avoid unpleasant sensations on the verge of painful ones, but as you work through the body will react less to the stimulus, and, therefore, there will be a new impetus to movement.

Any impact on the problem must first of all be systematic, stable and properly executed. Only then it will be possible to say that gymnastics helped with coxarthrosis.

Method of Dr. Bubnovsky

Dr. Sergei Bubnovsky has extensive experience in the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system. His method is motion therapy, kinesitherapy. His practical studies are more than 30 years old, and the number of cured patients is estimated in thousands.

The specificity of the exercises he offers is that they are done slowly enough, smoothly and with maximum concentration on sensations and movement mechanics - this is the most important part of joint gymnastics. Coxarthrosis will recede, joint ligaments will gradually grow stronger and the muscles located next to them that are responsible for movement will improve the secretion of the periarticular fluid and the mobility of the joint itself, pain and inflammation will disappear.

Gymnastics Bubnovsky with coxarthrosis is selected and appointed individually, based on the examination and the degree of the disease. The treatment is amenable to different age groups and patients, with a severe 4 degree of disease. There are options even for those who can not get out of bed.

What should I do if I'm exacerbated?

If there is an exacerbation of the disease, you need to temporarily reduce activity, rest and drink plenty of clean water. At the same time, minimal movements without strong pain are needed. Small flexion-extension, lying on the back, light rotation with a small amplitude will help the joints not to lose the last mobility. It is important to remember that movement is life.

Massages, warming compresses and other similar effects are also not recommended. In particularly critical conditions, the operation is applied.

Diet with coxarthrosis

With excess weight (if any), a diet is prescribed for weight loss, with a high content of vegetable proteins and low cholesterol. If there are no problems with weight, then it is advisable not to eat foods containing an increased amount of salts and drink as much purified water as possible.

It should be excluded from the diet of fatty meat products, sugar, yeast dough, alcohol and coffee. But low-fat fish, sour-milk products and nuts are very welcome, as well as products rich in calcium. It is recommended to eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, with minimal heat treatment, honey, from cereals - buckwheat and oatmeal. It is very good to drink teas and decoctions of herbs that stimulate metabolism and remove toxins from the blood.

Preventative methods

For the purpose of prevention it is necessary:

  • Follow the right balanced diet,
  • Get rid of bad habits (alcohol, nicotine and sedentary lifestyle),
  • Regularly take walks in the fresh air,
  • Do yoga, tai chi or qigong and in no case limit mobility if the disease has already struck.

If possible, you can and should visit the pool (swimming very well helps with problems with the legs), ride a bicycle, use the services of a masseur and instructor for rehabilitation therapeutic complexes. The best gymnastics in coxarthrosis are actions under the supervision of a competent specialist, so it is better to allow yourself to be healthy and prevent the onset of the disease than to get rid of it afterwards.
