OJSC "Bereznikovsky Soda Plant": history, products

JSC "Bereznikovsky Soda Plant" - the first-born of the soda industry in Russia - has been producing its products for 130 years. The production of soda ash at the enterprise is carried out by the ammonia-salt method. Since 2010 it is part of the holding company "Bashkir Chemistry".

Creature

In the XIX century, the need for calcined soda was colossal. By the end of the century, Russia annually consumed about 2 million poods of soda, which was used in the glass and textile industries, in soap making, the production of kerosene from oil.

At that time, almost all soda came to the country solely from foreign factories. A new stable high-quality ammonia-soda production, so necessary for the developing chemical industry in Russia, was created in Berezniki by the well-known merchant-merchant of Kama, II Lyubimov and an outstanding Belgian engineer, talented chemist-technologist and entrepreneur E. Solve.

Importance for the country

Construction of the first domestic production of soda with a capacity of 6,000 tons per year in 1881-1883 contributed to the creation of a new industrial center on the Upper Kama. Moreover, the Berezniki Soda Plant (BSZ) allowed the entire domestic chemical industry to accelerate the pace of development.

The enterprise, managed by the foreign administration, largely took over the European experience of management. It became the forge of the cadres of the Russian young capitalism, allowed to gain a rich experience of foreign partnership. For workers, housing was built, good working conditions were created. Highly qualified staff received very high salaries. In general, the plant was an example of socially responsible business, which is not typical for the tsarist period.

The Soviet period

The First World War, the Russian Revolution, the Civil War caused enormous damage to the entire Russian economy, but the Berezniki Soda Plant continued to operate under any authority. After the Civil War, soda production increased from 20,000 tons in 1923 to 26,000 tons in 1925. The output of caustic soda increased twice. Significantly decreased the cost of soda and other products.

The successes of the key enterprise were noticed at the highest level of the young Soviet Republic. In 1923 VSNKH awarded the organization the honorary title "Model Bereznikovsky Soda Plant named after Lenin". In 1929, the construction of the Berezniki Chemical Combine (BHC) began in the Northern Prikamye, where the plant was located and manufactured. This facility was one of the 12 most significant in the USSR and was under the personal control of the heavy industry addict Sergo Ordzhonikidze.

In Berezniki, in order to get acquainted with the progress of industrial construction in the early 1930s, the Chairman of the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee MI Kalinin and SK Orzhonikidze came. The soda plant entered the structure of the BHC, and only in 1940 it became an independent enterprise again.

In complex pre-war, military and post-war years, despite objective and subjective difficulties (repression, severe climatic conditions, shortage of qualified personnel), the soda plant played a crucial role. So, after the occupation of the southern Donetsk and Slavic factories at the beginning of the war, BSZ remained alone throughout the country. The enterprise during the Second World War was the only supplier of soda products. It provided the soda ash of the chemical industry enterprise with 28 commissariats, and caustic soda - factories 25 commissariats. In parallel, they produced the famous Molotov cocktail. In the post-war period the factory workers also made a significant contribution to the restoration of the national economy of the USSR.

Production

Today Berezniki Soda Plant is the 3rd largest producer of soda in the Russian Federation. Its share in the domestic market is kept at around 16-18%. The enterprise produces:

  • Calcined soda grinding No. 1.
  • Detergents technical.
  • Lime is a lump.
  • Commercial brine purified.
  • Brine is sodium chloride.
  • Household means "Dish".
  • Limestone and its derivatives.
  • Crushed stone and mixtures.
  • Rock species.
  • Coke-coal fines.

Modernization

Every year, BSZ invests significant sums in the development of the enterprise. Within the framework of the investment plan, construction of "heavy" soda production is being carried out. A large-scale reconstruction of the soda ash shop was carried out. Among the largest projects:

  • Installation of turbocharger.
  • Installation of a transfer line for a weak ammoniated brine.
  • Modernization of carbokolonna No. 9 and No. 12.
  • Modernization of the sludge accumulator.
  • Installation of ammonia station equipment.
  • Installation of six gas analyzers for methane and CO in the department of calcination of soda ovens.

Measures have been taken to ensure the safe operation of the vortex absorber. The carbonate regime is being developed and introduced at the distillation station in order to ensure a non-Krustland regime.

Bereznikovsky soda, where about 2000 people work, remains a significant enterprise in the region. Entry into the united holding "Bashkirskaya Khimiya" allowed to optimize logistics schemes, find additional resources for modernization, successfully compete with profile production.
