Ointment tetracycline ophthalmic is a bacteriostatic antibiotic. The drug has a yellow color, is available in aluminum tubes of three, seven and ten grams.

It appears in the dark yellow color of the teeth.

Ointment tetracycline eye has some contraindications. The drug is not recommended for hypersensitivity to it and related antibiotics (Doxycycline, Oxytetracycline and others). Contraindicated ointment for persons who have fungal lesions, renal and hepatic pathology, leukopenia (low blood levels of leukocytes). With special care, the drug is used in children under eight years old, as well as in patients with allergic reactions in the history of the disease (anamnesis). The advisability of using tetracycline ointment during pregnancy and lactation is determined exclusively by the attending physician. In this case, as a rule, antibiotics of this group are not prescribed during the antenatal period.

Use of the drug may cause blurred vision. As a rule, this condition quickly disappears and does not refer to reasons for which it is necessary to cancel the funds. However, it should be noted that in the case of prolonged visual disturbances, it is necessary to visit a doctor.

The drug is not used for puncture or deep wounds, as well as for severe burns.
