Nice, airport: useful information

If you have NCE LFMN on the ticket in the point of arrival, it means that you are waiting for the Azure Coast. It is with such Latin letters that the airport code "Nice - Cote d'Azur" is encrypted. The second name indicates that the hub serves not only the city, but the whole coast of the famous French Riviera. And also a whole state, even a dwarf, Monaco. About how to get from the airport to your destination, and also how not to get lost in two terminals, read in this article. Here you can get acquainted with the scheme of the hub and find out how to get to the public transport stops better.

General information

Nice - Cote d'Azur, or simply "Nice", is an airport with international status. And even more: this is the third largest hub in France. He is second only to the capital's Orly and Charles de Gaulle. Thus, it would not be an exaggeration to say that the local airport is the real air gateway to the South of France. Every year the passenger traffic reaches ten million people. Nevertheless, everything here is simple and compact. The two main terminals are within walking distance of each other. Between them at an interval of twenty minutes free shuttle shuttle runs, but if you are light, the distance can be overcome very quickly.

To be precise, there are three terminals at the airport. But, as you know, the Azure Coast is a favorite place for living or resting money-bags. It is for their private planes that the third terminal is built.

History

God himself ordered that at such a world-famous and untwisted resort, like Nice, the airport was at the highest level. All the innovations of France have invariably been introduced in the main city of the Azure Coast. Therefore, the aviation exhibition of 1910 was held here. And since 1918 in the sky over Nice took off an amazing seaplane, heading for Corsica. The official status of the civil airport hub was in 1929. Only the Second World War died down, as a long runway with a hard surface was built. The present name "Nice - Cote D'Azur" airport was received in 1955. At first he had only one terminal. Now this oldest building mainly serves domestic passengers.

Where is

Very compact this city is Nice. The airport, whose address is listed in the directories as 06281 Nice Cedex 3, France, is actually located within the boundaries of the resort. If you walk along the English embankment to the west from the main street to the confluence of the Var River in the sea, you will get straight to the hub. All the way from the center is an incomplete six kilometers. Perhaps this is the only airport where to reach not only quickly, but also pleasantly: The palm-lined promenade goes along the sea past the beautiful villas. From the airport there is a helicopter service with the city-state of Monaco. On other resorts of the French Riviera, as well as Italian Liguria, there are regular buses. Cannes, Antibes, Saint Tropez, Grasse - everywhere you can get in an incomplete hour. A little more will take the road to Genoa, Turin and Milan. Use this hub and in order to get to the Alpine ski resorts.

How to get to Nice airport

Due to the short distance to the terminals, you can easily walk or bike. Especially if you live in the western part of the city. Without traffic jams and tardiness you can get to the hub by train. A lot of electric trains go in that direction. You need one that makes a stop on the "Nice-San Agustin" (Gare Nice St Augustin). Exit from the trains directly at the terminal number 1. If you need a T-2, then you can use the free shuttle. These buses, as a rule, will dock with electric trains. It should be immediately stipulated that the French Riviera is a mega-expensive region. Taxis, in spite of small distances, will cost you about 150-200 Euro. Therefore, if you do not leave late at night, it is worth using the services of bus transport. There are many routes along the city. You need the one where it says: "Nice airport".

Small tricks of local buses

Everything on the Cote d'Azur is designed to "tear off" as much as possible from tourists, while sparing the local residents. Therefore, for those who arrive for the first time in the city of Nice, the airport can be a trap for their budget. Therefore, usually people go along with the crowd in the direction of the indicator of bus stops and take the routes 98 or 99. It costs six euros. The ticket is bought at the ticket office at the bus stop. But if you leave the terminal through the entrance, where the pointer "Taxi" hangs, then you can go to the city for one and a half euro.

Directly at the entrance is a large public transport stop. There are routes number 23, 24, 52, 59, 600, 70, 94. Some of them go to other cities of the Riviera (for example, № 500: "Nice-Gras" through the airport). The ticket can be purchased from the driver. The coupon must be immediately pinched, after which it is valid for 70 minutes. This gives you the right to change to another public transport, for example, a tram. Municipal buses stop, if the passenger asks for it or wishing to get into the car waved his hand.

In both terminals there are duty-free shops, a cafe, recreation areas with Wi-Fi, children's playgrounds, currency exchange points. In T-1, where the flight "St. Petersburg-Nice" arrives, there is a conference hall with a capacity of 250 people. The VAT refund office is located in T-2. To this terminal fly passengers of the flight "Moscow-Nice". By the way, voice announcements about registration or landing on these routes are duplicated in Russian. Recently, the office of Tax Free is also open in the first terminal. Near T-2, in a multi-storey parking lot, there are offices for car rental. The railway station Nice St Augustin is a few hundred meters from the T-1. Three kilometers from the airport is the station of San Lorenz du Var (Gare St Laurent du Var). Bus routes №№ 1А, 1В and 200 go to it.
