Of what to build a house? Choose wall materials

As you might guess from the name, wall materials are a separate group of construction tools used to erect external walls and internal partitions. The market is constantly replenished with new types, so choosing the most optimal option in most cases is not easy.

One of the most common materials for several thousand years remains brick. Aesthetic appearance, as well as high strength and reliability determine its relevance among developers. Despite the significant time costs required to build a brick house, and the economic component of the issue, this material does not lose its popularity. Such a house has an attractive appearance and serves as a reflection of the status of its owner.

Silicate and ceramic bricks are universal wall materials that are suitable for both the erection of walls and for their finishing. Safe in terms of ecology, frost-resistant and durable brick has good thermal insulation. It is very comfortable to be in such a house - in the summer it is possible to enjoy a cool atmosphere in its walls, and in winter it is very warm.

Wall building materials, not inferior to the brick for its popularity, are represented by a group of block materials, including foam concrete, aerated concrete, gas silicate and expanded clay blocks. Foam concrete has over the years been finding more fans. Widely distributed in the construction of foam blocks have been due to the ability to significantly reduce the cost of the building due to the low price of the material, reducing the time and labor costs for construction and excellent characteristics. Foam concrete differs relatively small weight and large dimensions, which facilitates the process of laying blocks, fire safety, environmental friendliness and excellent heat and sound insulation. In addition, you can use it both for erection of external walls, and for partitions.

Modern high-tech wall materials - blocks of aerated concrete and gas silicate - are characterized by their excellent operational parameters. As a type of cellular concrete, these blocks are manufactured using different technologies, but both are widely used in the construction of residential buildings and industrial facilities. Gas silicate is a more durable material than aerated concrete, which practically does not require time to shrink. Low thermal conductivity of aerated concrete blocks makes it possible to save considerably on heating the house. However, the use of cement in the production of blocks of aerated concrete makes them less attractive than gas silicate blocks.

Such wall materials as blocks of expanded clay concrete, many years ago won their popularity in Europe, although in our country they are not used so often. The houses, erected from claydite-concrete blocks, are distinguished by a comfortable microclimate, good noise and heat insulation. Perhaps the main disadvantage of claydite concrete is the need for exterior cladding of the building.

Choosing wall materials for construction, you should seriously approach this issue. In addition to operational characteristics, it is worth considering the time costs for erection and shrinkage of walls, the required financial investments and the need for using special equipment or machinery.
