Gas silicate blocks: advantages in construction

Gas silicate blocks are an excellent building material. They are used in the construction of houses and other adjacent buildings. The materials have unique properties, excellent heat and sound insulation, high strength, incombustibility and low weight. All these properties are the result of a special technology for the production of these products.

Gas silicate blocks are made of lime, quartz sand, water and aluminum powder. This combination of components makes it possible to obtain a material that is easily amenable to modification, while at the same time possessing increased strength.

Gas silicate blocks were widely used in the construction of multi-storey structures, with the strengthening and erection of bearing walls. This is due to their high quality and technical performance, as well as an affordable price compared to other materials.

From the point of view of ecology, an important advantage is the safety of products, since they contain no harmful chemical compounds. Gas-silicate blocks have a difference from aerated concrete blocks, which consists in the autoclave production principle.

Materials produced by this technology are less susceptible to shrinkage and have (in comparison with other products) greater strength at the same density. Autoclaving is performed at a temperature of 180 degrees Celsius and a pressure of 14 bar. These conditions make it possible not only to obtain a new material that has high strength, but also to distribute the pores of the blocks more evenly throughout the volume. Also, in the manufacture of aerated concrete cement acts as a cementitious element, and gas silicate is made using calcareous mixtures.

In general, gas silicate blocks refer to cellular concrete, which got its name due to specific pores, having a size of about 3 millimeters in diameter and evenly distributed throughout the structure. Due to this, the materials perfectly absorb sounds and have resistance to fire. The air enclosed in the cells gives the products a high thermal insulation. In addition, building materials have good strength, excellent geometric shape and low thermal conductivity.

Gas silicate blocks, the sizes of which have a wide range, can be used for wall insulation. They are successfully used to create interroom constructions, since it is more profitable than laying bricks. Savings are obtained as a result of reducing the time for work because of their size.

Stacking of products does not require high costs and is performed on glue for gas silicate blocks. During installation, a special adhesive compound is used, which makes the construction almost seamless.

The advantages of the material are undeniable. Due to its low weight, it does not exert pressure on the foundation (as opposed to other building materials). Blocks create excellent sound insulation, eliminating the hosts of the house from the obsessive noise of cars. In addition, the products, compared with wood and brick, have a lower cost.
