"Obolon" (beer): production and customer reviews

Obolon is beer, which is well known today throughout the territory of the post-Soviet space. Manufactured by the efforts of Ukrainian specialists, it eventually gained immense popularity and became the subject of the national pride of their country.

Product details

The history of the brand began in the second half of the last century. It was then that a new plant was built in Kiev to produce non-alcoholic and low-alcohol beverages. As experts for solving technological issues, Czech specialists were invited. They, in fact, created "Obolon". The beer turned out to be of excellent quality. In this, the main role, naturally, was played by raw materials used for its production. The composition of the approved formulation included the following components:

  • Clean water from an artesian well, the depth of which is about 290 meters;
  • Special races of brewer's yeast;
  • malt;
  • Aromatic hops.

This standard set became the basis of a new drink with the poetic name "Obolon". Beer was like the residents of the capital. And very soon it was already known about him in every Ukrainian town.

Over time, the company's management decided to present its product on the foreign market. The goods began to be delivered to many countries of Europe, and later to the United States. There he was appreciated. And the new trademark was perceived precisely as the first Ukrainian national brand. Since then, Obolon (beer) has not given up its positions. To this day, it is considered the No. 1 brand and the leader in the domestic market. Yes, and abroad, too, are treated with great respect.

Russian partner

For more than forty years, Ukraine has been supplying its famous Obolon beer to the foreign market. In Russia, the volume of imports of this product two years ago was more than 50 percent of the total supply. The drink liked consumers and sold well in the retail chain.

But after research conducted by Russian independent laboratories, in August 2014, Rospotrebnadzor decided to suspend the import of this product into the country. For such a step, there were quite good reasons. Experts have determined that Ukrainian beer violates the Law on Consumer Rights Protection in force in Russia on two rather serious indicators:

1) Non-compliance with the required indicators of the energy value of the product.

2) Poor organoleptic characteristics. In many samples, unauthorized foreign inclusions were found which made the product cloudy and unfit for sale.

However, the "trade war" did not last long. Very soon the Russian government announced the resumption of mutually beneficial cooperation. In July 2015, it was decided to start producing beer brand "Obolon" at one of the Moscow breweries. Since then, the famous Ukrainian brand has firmly established itself in the Russian capital.

History of the manufacturer

Many real connoisseurs really like Obolon beer. The manufacturer tries to constantly please the customers with new interesting kinds and grades of the manufactured products. For its relatively short history of existence, the company was able to achieve striking success. It all began in 1974, when the country was preparing for the upcoming Olympics. It was decided to coincide with this event the opening of a new brewery, whose products will comply with all European standards. As the assistants for the implementation of this event, the best experts of Czechoslovakia were invited who are considered to be the real masters and experts of brewing in the whole world. Taking into account their opinion, one of the microdistricts of the city of Kiev was chosen as the site for the construction of the plant. The site was ideally suited for this because of the presence on the territory in the immediate vicinity of an artesian well with clean water, which corresponds to the required parameters. The company was also built on the Czech project, and soon turned into the country's largest beer company .

She got her name a little later. Only in 1986 it was decided to give the plant the name of the district in which it was built. An unusual name has its own historical roots. So in the Middle Ages called meadows, located in the lowlands around the rivers. Later, after the collapse of the Union, Obolon took part in privatization and became one of the first private enterprises in the new Ukraine.

Customer Reviews

Recently, very often in the outlets of not only Ukraine, but also many countries of the Near and Far Abroad, one can meet Obolon beer. Feedback from customers about this product is mixed. Many people think that this is a great product that deserves to take a leading position. Fans of light foam drinks like a pleasant taste of hops and malt, from which the head is dizzy, but the next morning there is no discomfort. Dark varieties also have a fairly large army of supporters. Noble aromas and pleasant bitterness delight those who appreciate in beer the depth of taste and the variety of its shades. Some buyers make their choice, guided by the price. I must say that Ukrainian products are much cheaper than domestic Russian goods. And its quality is not worse. With great approval at one time, the Russian consumer was greeted with novelties. Light premium beer with the addition of rice turned out to be very soft and gentle, and the dark "Velvet" attracts with a charming aroma and a pleasant sweetish flavor due to caramel malt. Do not forget about the main component of these drinks. Ideally clean water is what makes the product really quality, quite worthy and competitive.

Everything for the people

The Ukrainian company, producing new types of products, tries to take into account the interests and wishes of its numerous buyers who choose for themselves Obolon beer. The photo allows you to better view the goods and evaluate for the beginning its exterior. Designers develop bright colorful labels, looking at which, you can immediately guess about the product they represent. It is also necessary to pay attention to the work of designers who pay great attention to the creation of the optimal form of packaging.

So, since 1992 the company has introduced a new standard for the bottle. It should have a label, counter label, collette, and a colored cork. This product looks very impressive and looks quite presentable. This allows the company to distinguish its product among numerous representatives of other companies. Gradually, the buyer gets used to it and is no longer looking for other goods on the shelves. Perhaps, this fact was the main reason for the fact that for today Obolon accounts for almost a quarter of all beer products in the domestic market of Ukraine.
