"Obelisk": analysis. Bykov "Obelisk": a summary

"Obelisk" is a story that Vasil Bykov created . It was written by him in 1971. In this article, we describe the summary of the work, we will analyze it. Bykov ("Obelisk", "Sotnikov", "Survive until dawn", "Badge of Trouble", "The Third Rocket" - all these are his works) are rightfully considered one of the best authors who wrote about the Great Patriotic War. In this article, we first describe the brief content of the story. After that, we will analyze it. Bykov ("Obelisk" and "Survive until Dawn") in 1974 awarded the State Prize of the USSR.

The beginning of the events of the story

The journalist once learned about the death of Miklashevich, a teacher who lived in the village of Seltso. The deceased was only 36 years old. A sense of guilt hit the newsman, and he decided to go to Seltso. The driver took the trucker, passing by. So the story begins, which was created by Vasily Bykov, the Obelisk.

Miklashevich at one of the conferences asked for help from a journalist. This hero was connected in wartime with the partisans. The Germans killed five of his classmates. In honor of them, thanks to the efforts of the teacher, a monument was erected. The newsmaker promised Miklashevich to help in one case, but did not have time, which Vasily Bykov points out.

The obelisk appeared around the corner. The journalist went out and headed for the school. Here was a livestock specialist, who indicated where they were mentioned. Arrived sat down. Brought a couple of bottles, came the revival. Ksendzov, the head of the district, was given the floor.

He said that the deceased was a faithful communist and an active public figure. Then he began to spread about the successes of the Soviet people in the cultural, scientific, economic fields, but he was interrupted by a veteran. The old man was indignant that no one remembered Frost at a funeral feast. The journalist learned that this veteran is Timothy Titovich Tkachuk, a former teacher.

Obelisk near the village of Seltso

We continue to describe the summary of the work that Bykov created. "Obelisk" (which we will analyze later) tells about the following events.

When Tkachuk left, the newsman followed. Tkachuk sat down on the leaves, and the journalist went to the obelisk made of concrete. The structure looked modest, but it was well maintained. White paint on the plate was added another name - AI. Frost.

The veteran approached the road and offered to get together. He said that from childhood he knew Miklashevich, he considered him an excellent teacher and a good person. Very fond of him and the guys. When the deceased was still a child, he ran after Moroz. The veteran told the journalist the following story.

Frost - school teacher

The Byelorussian SSR and Western Byelorussia were reunited in 1939, in the fall. To the west, we sent Tkachuk for the organization of collective farms and schools. Timothy taught and headed the district. Frost opened a school in the farmstead of Selco. Podgaiskaya worked here, a Polish woman who knew a little Belarusian, but did not speak Russian. She complained about the methods of education of Moroz, Tkachuk went with a check.

Children worked in the school yard: a tree fell and they sawed it. It was difficult with wood. Other schools Tkachuku complained about the lack of fuel, but here they took the initiative in their own hands. Ales Ivanovich Moroz went to the head. He was limping.

A teacher was born in Mogilev region. Problems with the leg were with him since birth. Ales Ivanovich said that earlier the children went to a Polish school, and it was not easy for them to master the Belarusian program. Frost dreamed of making them worthy people.

Frost cares for pupils

Timothy Titovich called in 1941, in January, to bask in school. He saw a boy of about ten. He said that the teacher went to spend sisters. Frozen Frost soon arrived. He said that before Kolya Borodich had accompanied them, but he had to, since Kolya did not show up. The mother of the girls did not let them into school: there were no shoes. Ales Ivanovich therefore bought them shoes. Frost left the boy who met Timothy Titovich, at school, as his father beat him at home. His name was Pavlik Miklashevich.

Sivak, the local prosecutor, said to give the baby's father. Frost had to obey. The parent on the way beat Pavel with a belt. Then Ales Ivanovich snatched his belt from his father, and the men almost started a fight. Judicial proceedings followed. The teacher managed to get the boy to go to the orphanage. However, to fulfill this decision, Moroz was not going to.

Agree that the image of a kind and selfless teacher was created by the Bulls. "Obelisk", the analysis of which is largely based on the personality of this person - a work in which the main character is Ales Moroz.

The War Begins

The war changed everything. There was an offensive of the Germans, but the Russians were not to be seen. Fascists soon appeared in the village. Everyone expected that they would be driven away quickly. No one thought that there would be a four-year war ... Of the local there were many traitors. It's not for nothing that Bykov mentions all this. "Obelisk" (the analysis of the work is given below) is a story based on the impressions of the author himself who participated in the war. Photo by Bykov is presented below.

The teachers joined the detachment of Seleznev, a Cossack, later Sivak was added. We began to prepare for the cold, dig trenches. It was decided to establish contacts with their people and local villages. Fighters sent for intelligence Seleznev.

We went to Seltso Tkachuk and Sivak. Policeman became a friend of the prosecutor, and Moroz continued to teach. Ales did not expect such a head district! Sivak said that he was not for nothing repressed ...

Frost's help in the war years

Night. With Alesem met Tkachuk, Sivak waited in the street. Moroz said that he is camouflaging himself and does not want the invaders to take the guys. They decided that the teacher would report on what was happening in the village to the partisans.

Frost helped actively. He wrote military reports from the receiver, passing them to the partisans. Our people were in winter in shelters: little food, cold. Only the mail lifted the mood.

Search in school

At first the policemen and fascists did not touch Ales. But one day everything changed. Lavchenya, a policeman nicknamed Cain, served the fascists. He was an ordinary young man before, but immediately changed his mind in the war to the side of the enemy. Lavchenya raped, robbed, and killed. The police once broke into school. They searched portfolios, books, and began questioning Frost.

The guys decide to kill the policeman

Borodich wanted to kill Cain, but Ales forbade it. Pavel Miklashevich was then 15 years old. The oldest was Nikolai Borodich (18 years old). There were in the same group Timka and Ostap Kozhany, as well as Kolya and Andryusha Smurnye (namesakes) - only 6 children. Kohl, the youngest, was 13 years old. They figured out how to neutralize this policeman.

Fatal act

Cain often visited his father, where he drank and had fun with colleagues or Germans. Spring came. Timofei Titovich was appointed Commissar. The sentry once brought Ales. He sat down and said that they had grabbed the guys.

It turned out that Boroditch persuaded the others. The next fatal act describes Bykov ("Obelisk"). Analyzing the work, we can say that this is the culmination of the action, after which the denouement comes. Bleachers at night filed the bridge at the bridge so that the car Cain hit the ravine. The elder comrade and Smurny watched in the bushes, the others left. Under the bridge Cain car hit. However, in addition to the German, all the other passengers survived and quickly got out.

The guys went to the village, but they were noticed. Pavel Miklashevich informed the teacher about everything. The policeman came to Ales at night and said that the guys had been seized, and he was next.

The connected Uliana arrived, which came only in extreme cases. The Germans threatened to hang the guys, demanded the release of Frost. Ales was summoned to go. Tkachuk and the Cossack began shouting that the guys would not be released, and Ales would be killed. Further events were learned from Gusak, and then from Miklashevich.

Frost comes to the Germans

The boys were kept in a barn waiting for Frost. At first the children did not admit. But Borodich took the blame during the torture, confessing everything. He thought that the rest would be released. Ales Ivanovich was dragged into the hut. Hearing his voice, the children have lost courage. No one expected Frost to appear himself. All seven in the evening were taken to the street. Vanya Kozhan, the elder brother of the twins, stepped forward and asked the Germans why they did not let the guys go, because, according to the fascists, only a teacher was needed. The guy hit the German teeth, Ivan hit him with his foot. They killed the boy.

The fate of the guys

The escorts were accompanied by 7 policemen and 4 Germans. Frost whispered at the bridge to Pavel that he would run to the bushes when he shouted. There was a forest. Suddenly Ales Ivanovich loudly cried out and looked to the left, as if seeing someone. Everyone looked back, even Miklashevich, but then he understood everything and ran. He was shot, then thrown into the water. Frost was badly beaten, and he did not get up any more.

The boy was found at night. Others were taken away and 5 days mocked. Everyone was hanged on the first day of Easter.

Papers found in 1944

Police officers and Gestapo papers found in 1944. Among them was Cain's report on Ales Frost. It was reported that Cain captured the leader of the partisan gang. This lies to all was profitable - and polizei, and the Germans. The report on losses was demanded by Seleznev. He wrote that the teacher was taken prisoner. There were two documents on it that could not be refuted. However, it was possible to Miklashevich.

Pavel was very sick, he was treated every year. He was shot through his chest and began tuberculosis. He managed to cure the lungs, but his heart stopped.

The dispute about Ales's deed

This concludes the story of Frost. Ksendzov's car was driving past. He agreed to take along fellow travelers. A dispute began in which the chief of the district (Ksendzov) said that Ales was not a hero, since he did not kill the Germans and did not save the children. Only by chance did Miklashevich remain alive. The veteran began to prove to him the opposite, since Moroz gave his life for the guys. Of course, this act is regarded as heroic and the author himself, Vasil Bykov.

"Obelisk": analysis of the work

Let us consider the product in more detail. To do this, we will analyze it. Bykov "Obelisk" sounds like a requiem for unknown war heroes. The story became a literary obelisk dedicated to them. However, the content is not exhausted by this appeal to history. As can be seen by analyzing the work "Obelisk" (Vasil Bykov). The reader in it can consider the fate of those who survived the war and who perished during these years.

The atmosphere of meditation is riddled with a story, as analysis shows. Bykov "Obelisk" is not the only work in which this atmosphere is felt. It is typical for the entire work of Vasily Vladimirovich. This atmosphere is needed to adjust the reader's perception of the moral meaning of the feat. Bykov was strict towards himself and his generation, since for him the feat of war is the main measure by which a person is judged.

The story outlined the ways of three generations of Vasil Bykov. "Obelisk" (the analysis of which we are conducting) is a work in which they are represented by the following heroes: Vitka, Miklashevich and Moroz. Each of the three generations is worthily on the heroic path, not always recognized by all.

Carrying out the analysis of the story "The Obelisk" by Bykov, it is necessary to highlight the problems that the writer raises in the work. The author makes the reader think about the meaning of heroism and heroism, unlike ordinary, to penetrate into the moral sources of actions. The representatives of three generations had a choice: to do so or not? They were not happy with the possibility of a formal justification. The heroes acted with conscience. The dispute in the Obelisk helps to understand the continuity of true kindness, selflessness, heroism. Ksendzov, most likely, would prefer, having appeared in a similar situation, to be eliminated. It is an amateur to teach and blame, not capable of self-sacrifice, in the work "Obelisk" (Bykov). Analysis (the problems of the story, heroes of the work and other moments) you can continue by including quotes from the text and adding your own reflections.
