Molusks on the skin

Our wonderful world we share not only with animals and birds, but, unfortunately, also with hundreds of thousands of viruses and microbes. The huge army of these living beings parasitizes us or us, causing various ailments. Molusky on the skin is a disease caused by a molluscum contagiosum virus . With the habitual for us mollusks inhabiting water bodies, this virus has no similarity and is manifested by a skin rash or separate formations from 1 mm to 2 cm. True, large rashes are rare. Basically, they are obtained from the merger of several neighboring formations into one.

How do you know if you have a clam on your skin and not some other rash? The diagnosis is usually made by a specialist without difficulty, because the papule (pimple) of the mollusk in the center has something resembling a navel. The second characteristic feature is a white substance, similar to a gruel or curd mass, that appears from a papule during mechanical exposure (extrusion). If you look at this gruel in a strong microscope, you can see in it a great many live contagious mollusks.

Molusks on the skin appear after contact with a sick person or with his things. Another way of infection is the pool. In the water, this virus does not die, but hitting the skin of the victim, tries to gain a foothold there. If the human body is weakened after the transferred diseases, if the immunity is not strong enough, the mollusc is fixed on the skin and begins to multiply actively. Absolutely healthy people rarely fall ill with them, only if the virus is in the open wound. The highest probability of catching a molluscum in children, in the elderly, and therefore weak, as well as in carriers of HIV infection, in people who have a promiscuous sex life and those who are unclean.

Often molluscum become pregnant and pregnant. If they do not receive treatment, the mollusc can be transmitted to the newborn. Very often the disease breaks out in kindergartens and day nurseries, because the ill child is not isolated, continues to visit the children's institution and to contact other children. To be fair to say, often the parents of such a child do not even suspect that their baby is the carrier of the infection.

Molusks on the skin of children appear anywhere, except the palms of the hands and feet. In adults, most often they pour out in the genital area, in the groin, on the inner thighs. Itching is rarely observed. But if he does, you can not comb the affected areas, since infection can be inflicted in the resulting wound. Places of scratching, as well as the place of a randomly torn shellfish should be greased with a green.

You can treat mollusks on the skin on your own at home or out-patient. At home, you can use ointments and alcohol tinctures, for example, celandine tincture, fucorcin, Tazorak ointments, Imiquimod, Aldara cream and others. They are applied according to the instructions attached to the medicine.

Outpatiently remove mollusks with special tweezers, curette, and after this place repeatedly lubricated with hydrogen peroxide and iodine. Cauterization with liquid nitrogen, electric current and laser is also used. Before the procedure, local anesthesia is necessarily done , since the removal of the mollusc papules is rather painful.

Folk methods consist in long (many times a day) cauterization of papules with fresh juice of celandine, garlic, bird cherry, concentrated manganese, saturated sequestrants and marigolds. With all treatment methods, vitamins and a balanced diet are shown.

Molluscum contagious treatment takes a long time. There are cases when after complete disappearance papules appeared again. Fortunately, this disease can be treated without treatment, after a person's immunity is sufficiently strengthened.
