Legally since 1953, and almost since 1948, the Korean people are divided into two parts. In South Korea (or the Republic of Korea), a market economy operates. There are other attributes of a democratic society: a multi-party system, unemployment and US military bases. All this is not in the DPRK. Deciphering the abbreviated name of the country says that this country is people's democratic, and the government in it is republican. And, of course, all this in North Korea, the letter "K" indicates this, and the absence of "C" indicates the hope for a common bright future for the entire peninsula.

Why democratic?

The decision on military support for North Korea during the war of 1950-1953 took place in Moscow and Beijing. Kim Il Sung made attempts to start the offensive before, but Stalin was not up to Southeast Asia at that time, and Mao Tse Dong did not have enough resources for full-scale assistance. In Russian (as in English), the names of China and Korea begin with the same letter. Reflections on how to designate a new proletarian state on the world map led to a logical decision to add one letter, at least in order not to confuse the PRC and the DPRK. The decoding of the name must necessarily contain the word "people's". China has done without democracy. North Korea received an additional letter "D". Freedom did not add it.

Geography

The entire territory of the Korean peninsula north of the 38th parallel is the country of the DPRK. Decoding RC (RC) refers to the southern part, separated from the second half by wide rows of barbed wire, minefields (this is the demilitarized zone) and fortified areas. The country has two border land borders: with China and the Russian Federation. The banks are washed by two seas: Japanese and Yellow. Pyongyang is the capital. The area is more than 120 thousand square kilometers. There are many waters in the country, its surface area is 130 square kilometers, but with drinking is tight, it is not enough.

The climate here is severe, in winter it is very cold, and in summer it is hot. However, there is another name for Korea - "Country of morning freshness", eloquently speaking about the love of the inhabitants of the peninsula to their homeland, their ability to find and appreciate the pleasant moments of life.

Juche is a man in the center

Almost the whole population of the country (99%) has mastered the letter. But this is not enough, Koreans of the North constantly improve their understanding of the world around them. It is not simple. The Juche is the dominant ideology in the DPRK. The interpretation of this concept is rather vague and has an abstract philosophical character. In its essence, this is one of the branches of Marxism on a strictly materialistic basis, which does not prevent, however, from attaching many features of the Eastern deity to its creator, Kim Il Sung, as well as his co-author, and at the same time his son, Kim Jong Il. Numerous miraculous actions of these theoreticians and philosophers are embodied in picturesque canvases, songs form about them, and at the center of all this riot of colors and melodies is a man in whose name everything is done in the DPRK. Deciphering his name is completely superfluous.

Economy

Perhaps it is the philosophical understanding of the realities that helps industrious and persistent Koreans, under the leadership of the Labor Party, to overcome adversity and reconcile themselves with difficulties, and there are many of them. Life expectancy of a citizen of the DPRK on average is less than 64 years, according to this indicator the country occupies the 149th place in the world rating. Medical care is in poor condition due to the poverty of the budget.

The main trading partner of North Korea is China, but the turnover is small - only 2.8 billion US dollars with a deficit of 1.3 billion.

The population of the country located in South-East Asia is small - 23 million people (2006). Despite this, the People's Army is numerically inferior only to the armed forces of India, the United States and China, it has more than a million bayonets. There are nuclear weapons and means of delivery.

The soldiers here serve for a long time, from 5 to 12 years.
