A cross between a spitz and a husky. Cross between Husky and Pomeranian Spitz

Recently, on the topical pages related to cynology, the pictures of a dog, called the amusing word "ruski" began to appear. A cross between a Spitz and a Husky resembles both of their ancestors. What is it? A new breed or a random cross, which on earth is the greatest variety? It is noteworthy that most of the Spitz breeders, like the owners of the husky kennels, advocating for their breed, are skeptical, calling the miracle born a trick of lovers of easy money. Neither the one nor the other dogs are recognized. Let's try to figure it out ...

What place does the class take in the classification?

None. Those who have thoroughbred dogs know that all breeds are on a certain list. This is a classification. There are several groups, each with several dogs with a clear description (FCI standard), recognized by the world community of dog handlers. It is these criteria that are evaluated at dog shows. There is, of course, no such breed as the "cross between the Spitz and the Husky" in the catalog. There is also no "rush". Those who wish can check this by looking at the dogs themselves.

The reason for the excitement

Why are photos showing a cross between a Husky and a Pomeranian Spitz caused such a keen interest? It turns out that the dog is represented as a rare and purely "designer breed." No one thinks about absurdity. But the unspeakable emotion is caused by the charming little faces of the husky (or malamute?) With the body of the Spitz. These dogs are "extremely smart, compact and unpretentious". Judge for yourself: an excellent description of the breed. And if to add to these qualities also "very rare today", then you can easily hunt for lovers of exotics, selling a crossbreed for an impressive amount. By the way, in some places the indicative prices have already started appearing. Actually, for such a rare specimen, the price is very even moderate - 2500-3000 y. E.

But how did this miracle come about?

It is difficult, to be more precise, impossible to say who got the idea to create a cross between a Spitz and a Husky. Most likely, the nature intervened. Dog breeders know that the cases of mating dogs, which are strikingly different in size, have a place to be. Perhaps, it happened so here - the Huskies and Spitz have got themselves independently, without the permission of their owners. The resulting litter was so cute that it began to claim a new, "designer" breed.

At the same time, there are no specific indications regarding growth, size at the withers, format and weight category. "Pomskie has a relatively small size, determined by the genes of the parents, roughly speaking, the born puppies will be of medium size." A large assortment of colors for the eyes and colors is supposed. " For reference: under the definition of "average size" gets a good half of the existing breeds.

Becoming a breed?

Why not? Each breed has its own special development. What if we are witnessing the birth of another? Perhaps, somebody officially will register a cross between a Spitz. And the husky will take part in this. Actually, the world can get recognition. True, it is very difficult to predict what this dog will be through the next two decades at least. A cross between a Spitz and a Husky is an unpredictable mix. And both in the exterior and in the character. Remember the famous dog of Stalin. Puppies black terrier and to this day is called a "cat in a sack." The breed was registered as early as 1981, but to this day the "errors" of the rocks involved in the black terrier are "jumping out". Although to date, this dog is quite deservedly considered unique in terms of their working qualities. Perhaps, over a hundred years (at least), it will also be established on the pedestal of workers or decorative dogs ...

Or maybe it's a clique?

Alaskan. By the way, this breed is not officially recognized as FCI either. But if you believe the American media, the clinic is now at the stage of formation under the strict supervision of breeders. It is possible that this is also a cross between a Spitz and a Husky. At least, when comparing the number of times and clichés of the Alaskan, it is difficult to find differences. There is even a certain standard (UCI), which breeders and experts should follow when breeding. The idea of creating a miniature husky duck in the head of an American couple back in the seventies of the last century. At the same time, the name "kli-kai" was given. In 1995, the prefix "Alaskan" was added. Recognition of the breed was in 1997.

According to the standard, the clinic has three categories: "mini" (33-38 cm, up to 7 kg), "standard" (up to 44 cm, not more than 10 kg) and one (up to 33 cm, up to 4.3 kg) . The color of the coat can be any, however, the mask on the face is mandatory, and must be very clearly expressed. Completely white dogs are discarded.

The nature of the miniature husky (Alaskan Klee Kai, Mini Husky)

To this dog, a few breeders predict quick recognition. It is believed that this crossbreed, despite the very high natural activity of the ancestors, is relatively calm and can be satisfied with short-term walking (including on a leash). However, always ready for games and jogging (qualifies as a companion dog). Small size allows you to keep the dog even cramped in the living space of people. He loves children (trait of the Husky breed). Easily trained. Without problems accepts pets (truth, and husky, and Spitz - partly hunters and not averse to chasing after game on occasion). Breeders say that in some ways, it looks like a cat - just flattering and even washing.

All the best features of the foregoing rocks are embedded in the creations. At least, so say the creators and breeders, enthusiasts. True, it is difficult to say how it was possible to get a new breed for such a short period of time. Genetics will agree: if strict requirements are imposed (and here emphasis has been put on miniaturization, i.e., selection of the smallest individuals), the time for the presentation of the clique should have been delayed by at least a quarter of a century. Yes, and to consolidate the character traits, too, it takes time.

Where can I buy?

As mentioned, the breed was recognized only recently and so far only by the UCI system. This is a powerful cynological organization, but much inferior to the FCI, whose representatives exist in all countries. In order for the breed to spread all over the world, it must be recognized universally. If you decide to become another breeder-enthusiast who wants to participate in the further development of the breed, prepare a visa and tickets to the USA.
