"Stalker: Call of Pripyat": system requirements and game review

STALKER Call of Pripyat is the third part of the game series "Stalker". In the final game of the series, the developers tried to refine and optimize the project as best as possible. As a result, the fans got the "Stalker" they were waiting for: with a heavy atmosphere, increased complexity, a sense of despair and a favorite game mechanics. This turned out to be "Stalker: Call of Pripyat". System requirements, a review of the game and mechanics, read further in the article.

Game idea

From the game of the game the concept of the "Stalker" series did not change at all. The player acts as a single-player stalker, who is met by various groups along the way. To join them or unleash a war is up to you. Also, such decisions affect the plot twists. Quite frankly, in the third game, history does not shine with interesting characters, colorful dialogues. Everything is done in the usual style of "Stalker": laconic heroes, harsh abrupt phrases and tasks, which, according to the wording, more closely resemble the order of the authorities.

However, no one has ever called the game "Stalker" friendly and welcoming to new players. Why? This point should be explained in more detail.

Mechanics of the game

For "Stalker: Call of Pripyat" system requirements have become a stumbling block. Despite the standard for its time requirements, the game received a disgusting optimization. You could close your eyes to this oversight if the game received a new engine that has not yet been tested by developers, and modern graphics. However, everything turned out quite sad. On the "Stalker: Call of Pripyat" system requirements are too high, and the player receives a questionable result: the graphics are completely repeated by "Clear Sky", on which more effects were imposed.

But that only the fans of the series and setting can not stand for tens of hours of being in your favorite game! Fans of the game claim that they got exactly what they wanted at the time of the very first part. And although the ratings of game journalists turned out to be very controversial, but the fans' reviews were basically only positive.

"Stalker: Call of Pripyat", the system requirements of which will be written below, was late with an exit for several years. This is what GSC studio planned to release "Shadow of Chernobyl". The budget for the full second part of the developers did not have enough. Ambiguous estimates led to low sales, in this regard, the company was forced to close. Many fans still hope for the announcement of the full second part of the "Stalker".

These are the system requirements "Stalker" (minimum). For a full game with the best graphics quality you will need: 2-core Core 2 Duo processor or similar from AMD with a frequency of 2 GHz, 2 GB of RAM and 512 MB of video memory.
