Natural anomalies of 2013: the revenge of nature

Natural anomalies for a year already occupy a significant place in news releases. Global climate change started to be talked about in the 20th century, but now this topic is becoming more relevant.

The only natural anomalies in 2013 brought many problems, with the consequences that people still can not cope fully.

At the very beginning of the year, the strongest storm in the last two decades hit Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Syria and Israel. The authorities were forced to close many municipal buildings, cancel flights and impose a ban on maritime movements. In several places, a snow layer with a height of 1 m was recorded. There were also no casualties: in the total amount of the storm, 20 people were killed.

Natural anomalies in February 2013 - this is generally a separate topic. As you know, it was this month that the famous Urals meteorite fell. In many buildings, the glass was badly damaged, and a large number of wounded entered hospitals. Fortunately, the meteorite fell far from the settlements.

More than eighty people were injured in Taiwan in March. It was here that one of the most powerful earthquakes in the last few years was an amplitude of 6.3. The vast majority of injuries are the result of collapsed buildings and fallen objects.

April 2013 is also a difficult month for a peaceful month. This time, natural anomalies touched the Midwest of the United States - as a result of the spring flood of the Mississippi River , a severe flood began. Several dams collapsed under the pressure of water, and its level was much higher than normal. Some barges were unable to stop at the ports and continued to flow limp along the current. Others have completely gone underwater. However, this natural anomalies in America did not end.

Literally the following month, in May, through the vast US, 76 tornadoes swept through, destroying thousands of buildings on their way and taking the lives of hundreds of people. The amounts needed to cover insurance are simply huge.

The most striking event in June, undoubtedly, was a catastrophe in India. As a result of a powerful flood, several thousand people died. However, this was only the beginning. Because of the large number of bodies, an epidemic began, the only way to combat which was the burning of corpses right on the spot. But such extreme measures were not fully effective: many hundreds of people, among whom were also employees of special services, nevertheless picked up the gastrointestinal infection. The situation was further complicated by mudflows that demolished whole villages on their way.

Abnormal heat in Japan in July also caused deaths. 85 people died in the Land of the Rising Sun as a result of a heat stroke, many treated the consequences of overheating in hospitals. The number of such complaints was twice as high as last year.

September was the most difficult month for China. The powerful Typhoon Usagi touched many settlements, including large cities. The authorities quickly took the appropriate measures: closed schools, canceled the sending of trains and flights. However, it was not possible to avoid the victims at all: about 30 people were killed, many buildings were badly damaged. In some areas, waves of up to 10 meters were recorded.

In October, typhoons continued to rage. According to experts, the damage was inflicted at least 7 million people. Less than 10 of them were killed, and four were declared missing. In many places the supply of electricity has stopped, the roads have washed away, and several dams have been breached.

Europe's cataclysms are also not bypassed. At the end of October, through the whole territory of North-Western Europe, Hurricane St. Judas was swept through. He began in Ireland and reached St. Petersburg. Victims of the raging elements were 17 people. The wind speed reached an incredible mark of 120 km / h.

The real nightmare of November was a typhoon that affected the Philippines. At the moment there is information about a hundred dead, and the bodies of many were found right on the roadside. At the moment, the Philippines is sent everything that is needed to restore the area and search for missing people.

It remains only to hope that we are not waiting for the next natural anomalies today, and the last month of 2013 will bring us only a festive New Year's mood.
