Musical Theatre

The theater of musical comedy (Minsk) was created in 1970. His first performance was called "The Lark Sings". Music for the production was written by the Belarusian composer Yuri Semenyako.

The theater was built in 1981. A street was specially built for him on Myasnikov Street. Soon the repertoire expanded, besides musical comedies and operettas, it included musicals, revues, ballets, performances for children, concerts, rock operas, festivals and so on. Accordingly, the troupe had to be increased.

In 2000 the Musical Comedy Theater was renamed into the musical. And in 2009 he was awarded the title of "Academic".

Today, the music theater is one of the most popular not only in Minsk, but also in all of Belarus. During the year the artists accept more than 250 thousand spectators.

The theater provides discounts and even the right to free attendance of the performance to privileged categories of citizens. For students and schoolchildren there are guided tours and meetings with actors.

Year 2013 was marked by a loud premiere. The theater staged the musical "Sophia Golshanskaya". The premiere took place in the open air. The performance won several awards at the National Theater Award.

The theater also organizes various festivals. One of them is the Week of Musical Art. The festival is attended by conductors, critics, artists, directors and directors of theaters. If the payment has not taken place, after 72 hours the reservation is automatically canceled and tickets are again on sale.

The Musical Theater is actively touring. He is known, loved and expected not only in other towns of Belarus, but also in the countries of near and far abroad.

For the last 6 years the company has made 60 trips. Among the countries visited by the theater are Spain, Germany, Czech Republic, Latvia, China, Lithuania, Portugal, Poland, etc. Artists have visited such cities of Russia as Smolensk, Tula, Ekaterinburg, Kaluga, Petrozavodsk.

Bolshoi Theater of Opera and Ballet

The musical theaters of Minsk most vividly represent the temple of art, created in 1933. Although it is historically correct to consider that it began its existence in the 20-ies. 20th century. It was then that the drama theater was formed, the troupe of which also included a choir, ballet, opera soloists and a small orchestra. The basis of the repertoire was musical dramas. As a result, the collective was reorganized in 1933 into the theater of opera and ballet. In 1940, the word "Big" was added to the title. And in 1964 the theater was awarded the title of "Academic".

In 1996, there was again a reorganization. In toga the theater was divided into two - opera and ballet. But in 2009 the troupes were again merged into one.

In the repertoire of the theater classical operas and ballets: "Snow Maiden", "Nabucco", "Tristan and Isolde", "La Traviata", "Tosca", "Chopiniana", "Carmen", etc.

The auditorium is designed for 1200 people.
