Multicolored lichen

The concept of "lichen" has long been known. This disease has so many varieties. However, all of them are united by one common symptom - a skin lesion.

Multicolored lichen is more common in countries with hot climates and high humidity. However, it can be noted in other climatic regions. The period of exacerbation of the disease, as a rule, falls on a warm time. Perebryvidnomu deprive more people at a young age. In the period from forty to sixty years the incidence rate is somewhat lower. The level of infectiousness is scanty.

Multicolored lichen refers to skin diseases of fungal nature. The causative agent of the disease is present on the skin as a saprophyte. When creating favorable conditions, this yeast fungus causes the formation of extensive lesions.

The disease got its name because of the color of the spots. This lichen is called pityrable because scrapes, similar to bran, are formed when scraping or rubbing the rashes. The disease develops only in the surface layer of the epidermis. Multicolored lichen is not accompanied by inflammatory processes. Foci and rashes above the surface of the skin do not protrude, as a rule, do not cause the patient anxiety. However, in rare cases, there may be a slight itch. Spots, as a rule, are located without any symmetry.

Theoretically, the colored lichen can spread through a common bed, clothes. However, the probability of such infection is negligible, because for this it is necessary to coincide some features of organisms (for example, increased sweating, weakened immunity, chemical composition of sweat). Great importance in the issue of predisposition to the disease is given to genetic heredity.

The first signs of the disease are rashes of small spots of rounded shape. They have first a pale pink shade, then, with the course of the ailment, get a dark brown color. Characteristic is a slight peeling, which is enhanced by rubbing or scratching. Rashes can merge and form quite extensive areas of damage. First the spots appear on the skin of the back, chest, axillae. Then the rash affects the shoulders, sides, stomach. On the light skin spots have a dark color, on the tanned cover, on the contrary, light. This is due to the fact that the fungus interferes with the production of pigment. The disease lasts a fairly long period, sometimes for several years.

The main reasons for the onset of the disease include the weakening of the immune system, a certain chemical composition of sweat, increased sweating, prolonged hormonal therapy (for example, corticosteroids), as well as a genetic predisposition.

Diagnosis of the disease is performed on the basis of the Balzer symptom. At the same time the spots are lubricated with iodine and compared with a healthy, also iodized skin. Cover, affected by a fungus, stains more. Also, the disease can be established by scraping - the peeling increases.

How to treat a multicolored lichen?

The main therapeutic measures include wiping the affected foci with 5% salicylic alcohol. In addition, in people who have been diagnosed with a discouraging multicolored lichen, the treatment is carried out using antifungal (antimycotic) ointments, shampoos or creams.
