Motivation is a motivation for action

We very often hear at work about such a concept as the motivation of employees. What it is? Why do we call for motivation, and how can it affect the course of work?

In general, this term came to us from afar, it means the motivation of a person to act. In other words, it can be said that motivation is a dynamic process that is designed to control human behavior, both psychologically and physiologically. This term means meeting the needs of people. For example, in order for employees to work in full force and impact, the employer has to constantly motivate them, for example, to raise premiums or play vouchers. All this gives the person some incentive to fulfill the appointed goal.

Motivation is an action after which a person approaches his need. For example, from the same job we want a high salary or an increase to it, so we are often motivated. With the upbringing of the child, we also resort to this term, give him what he wants, and in return receive the desired result - lessons learned, a five in mathematics or house cleaning. All this is the motivation - the person's motivation for action.

In order to get people to act, a psychological motive is needed. In different cases, this motive may be tangible or intangible, internal or external. Types of motivation can also be completely different:

- external motivation, which motivates the subject to a specific goal, it stimulates human behavior. For example, for business, an excellent motive is profit, and for the employee - the opportunity to obtain their own housing;

- Internal motivation is an option that is not related to external circumstances. For example, a person who saved someone's life, first of all, thought about this person, rather than about the reward. This is the inner motive - to save, to show courage;

- Positive motivation, it is said here to encourage people to achieve the desired goal. In this case, there can be various salary supplements, bonuses, rewards and bonuses;

- negative motivation, which, on the contrary, is aimed at making people feel fear of failure or punishment for unfulfilled work. This option indicates that the subject, fearing to be punished, will try to avoid all troubles, thereby motivating himself to achieve a positive result. In this case, as a punishment may be remarks from the authorities, the loss of bonuses, fines, scholarships, as well as disagreements in the team and the refusal to join the group;

- Stable motivation is an incentive that does not need additional incentives;

- an unstable motivation that requires additional incentives.

Thus, it is possible to stimulate a person quite differently, and not only in a positive way. More often than not, many heads of educational institutions, enterprises and organizations manage to achieve a good result from their students and employees only through the method of negative motivation. Having told a person that he will be deprived of a scholarship or a bonus, it means to do everything so that this person does not give any chance to do what he has planned.

Examples of motivation can be given as many as desired. From the earliest childhood, people motivate each other, and then the motivation for action becomes a habit. For example, for a child to collect toys with him, parents often talk about further rewarding as a candy or a long-awaited car. At school, we also strive to ensure that children learn well, thereby promising them all that they want, for example, going to camp on vacation or buying a bicycle. So all around - a solid motivation, which pushes to fulfill the desired goal.
