Monthly breastfeeding - the norm or the deviation?

If you intend to breastfeed your baby for as long as possible, first find out everything about breastfeeding with your doctor, and read specialized literature.
Do not confuse the menses with breastfeeding with lochia. Lochias are postpartum blood discharges that disappear about a month after birth.
The menstrual cycle is fully restored during the first two or three menstruations, if this does not happen, see a doctor. An irregular menstrual cycle can indicate a variety of inflammatory diseases of the genitals, so do not delay visiting a gynecologist. Also too abundant discharge (if the first menstruation lasts more than a week) are not normal, as, indeed, the meager monthly. When breastfeeding, some mothers note some additional inconveniences in the resumption of menstruation: for example, the sensitivity of the nipples during PMS (hampering feeding). This problem can be solved with the help of a warm compress on the chest before feeding.
Remember that menstruation for breastfeeding does not affect in any way, the baby will eat the same way as before. But the monthly ones with breastfeeding sometimes are irregular, they can appear and disappear, you should not panic about this until the feeding stops completely. However, the doctor will not be able to visit you.
