Millions of Americans are confident that chocolate milk is obtained from cows with a brown color

If you go to the website of the Innovation Center for the Study of Dairy Products in the US, you can see for themselves that one of the most frequently asked questions is related to chocolate milk. It sounds like this: "Does chocolate milk really come from cows with a brown color?" The representatives of the Center answer this question clearly and politely: "In fact, chocolate milk, like any flavored milk, is cow's milk of white color with the addition of flavors and Sweeteners. "

What do Americans think about the origin of chocolate milk

Can someone really assume that cows are able to give colorful milk, in particular chocolate? It's hard to believe, but according to statistics, 7 percent of Americans still believe this.

Simple calculations show that 7% is 16.4 million people across the country who believe that a chocolate milkshake can potentially be drunk directly from the udder of the cow.

These statistics were obtained through a nationally representative survey, and its results are becoming increasingly alarming. It turns out that 48% of respondents are not quite sure where chocolate milk comes from. If these results are true for the country as a whole, then it turns out that 154,272,000 Americans are not sure how this common product appears.

A few more interesting facts

Unfortunately, this is not an isolated case, when Americans are not aware of where the food comes from on their table. A study conducted in the early 1990s showed that 20 percent of America's adult population did not know what hamburgers make from cow meat.

Strangely enough, the Innovation Center for the Study of Dairy Products also revealed that 37% of people secretly drink milk directly from the container in the refrigerator, and another 29% use their children as an excuse to buy chocolate milk and drink it themselves.

The poll, which involved more than 1,000 adults, also showed that 95 percent of Americans always have in their fridge some type of cheese. Hopefully, the experts of the Center will conduct another study to find out how the Americans explain the existence of blue cheese. Perhaps some believe that it is obtained from the milk of blue cows?
