Metro station. Kursk railway station at which station is located?

Have you ever wondered how many metro stations are there in the Russian capital Moscow? Of course, you can easily count, but, perhaps, in our case it's completely useless. We are interested in the metro station, Kursk railway station on which is located, so we will only talk about it.

"Kursk" - where is it?

There is a metro station "Kurskaya" in the center of Moscow . Kursk railway station is located here (in honor of it the station was named).

Passing the stairwell in the center of the hall from the station of the "Kursk" ring line, you can make the transition to the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line, and through the vestibule at the southern exit - to the "Chkalovskaya" of the Ljubljana line. The northern vestibule of this metro station leads from one side to the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line, and on the other - to the Kursky railway station.

A little history of the station

The construction of the Moscow metro began in 1931 from the Rusakovskaya street in Sokolniki, from the digging of the mine by ordinary shovels. This, of course, significantly slowed the pace of planned work. Initially, it was planned to erect an underground metro, and only in the center of the capital at shallow depths it was planned to build a small underground part of it.

Catastrophically there was not enough manpower. Indigenous Muscovites were skeptical about this and did not go to work here. And only the appeal to the youth helped to continue this grandiose construction. The profession of metrostroevtsa in those days became an honorable and significant.

The first subway line was opened in 1935, and already in 1938 in the second stage Kurskaya metro station was launched. Kursk railway station, or rather, its building, was built in the late XIX century. After that, it was reconstructed several times, therefore nowadays it looks quite solid and respectable.

Station design

The metro station at Kursk railway station differs from all other Moscow ones not only in appearance, but also in architectural style. Indeed, the leading specialist Polyakov, along with experienced engineers Komarov and Kibardin at one time created a special construction of it - a pylon three-vaulted deep foundation.

And to this day, light gray marble clings the pylons of the station. Travel walls from above frame white glazed ceramic tiles, and from below - black marble. On round ventilation holes, closed with gilded grilles, beautiful lights are mounted. The main hall hall is illuminated by several huge chandeliers resembling small suns.

How does the station communicate with the train station

A complex system of underground and above-ground structures, which provides inputs and exits of passage to other metro lines, connection with the large station and its internal premises, give this station a scale and majesty.

In the circular underground hall - the center of this ensemble, from where three escalators of the type E55T, installed in 2009, are moving in different directions, there is a passage from the front of the "Kursk" ring line to the waiting rooms of the station, as well as to the underground cash desk associated with the ground station station .

Description of the underground hall

The metro station (Kursk station on which is located) - what is it remarkable about? The center of the underground hall is crowned by a powerful round pillar (column). The base of the column is, as it were, drowned in the floor and a small granite edge is made over its depth. The surface is covered with stucco molding with the image of rural motifs. The ceilings of the hall are supported by a pillar and two more rows of round and square columns. The first ones are also lined with wax-red marble, while others are light-cream stone. The walls of the room are lined with yellow and pale pink marble of the Gazgan deposit.

The cash pavilion, which separates from the round transition chamber, is trimmed with four oval pylons and cylindrical columns supporting the ceiling. Along them is a line of turnstiles. The whole room is decorated in dark, strict colors.

All the walls with pylons and columns are covered with a dark, almost black, with impregnated white marble imported from the fields of Davala. The floor is made of plates of black gabbro and gray granite. Three ladders leading to the box pavilion are decorated with white marble, and the middle, the widest, will take you to the waiting room at the Kursky railway station.

The metro station (the scheme presents it very clearly) seems at first glance intricate and complex, but after a brief and careful study for any person, its "labyrinths" will become available.

Ground Pavilion

The metro station, Kursky railway station, which is located, includes also a ground pavilion, finished with a four-columned portico, unusual arched openings and applied ornamentation on its facade. The design of the lobby of the station is somewhat reminiscent of the temple buildings, it is located under an octagonal ribbed dome. The entrance is indicated by rectangular high-rise pylons, on the inner side of which bronze minted huge swords with two handles, twisted garland. On the round columns are laid powerful beams, on which this cupola rests. On the beams themselves, in large letters, the words from the USSR hymn are engraved.
