'Melaxen': instructions, indications, contraindications

"Melaxen" (also called "Melatonin") is a synthetic analogue of the hormone of the pineal gland. Many are sure that "Melaxen" is a sleeping pill. This is not so. Physicians appoint him for better adaptation in cases of changing time zones, for the normalization of biorhythms (when a person "confuses" day and night). The medicine perfectly helps with insomnia, removes the effects of stress, is used to treat depression or sleep disorders of any type.

MELAXEN ("Melaxen"), the instruction confirms this, regulates sleep well, increases immunity, resists the death of cells and their aging. The hormone melatonin, which is the main active substance of Melaxen, is responsible for rhythmic work of the organism in day-night mode, normalizes night sleep, improves its quality.

The preparation "Melaxen", the instruction especially emphasizes it, not only improves falling asleep. It reduces the number of awakenings at night, makes sleep calm and deep, and dreams are more emotional, saturated, vivid. It is important that it helps to wake up easily and quickly within a few hours after taking the drug.

Since the overall well-being of a person depends on the quality of sleep, it can be considered that "Melaxen" (the instruction to it is always in the package with the drug), improves the quality of life. The person begins to think better, his intellectual abilities improve, the mental functions of the brain. The drug positively affects the psycho-emotional state and emotional-personal characteristics of a person.

"Melaxen", the instruction also draws to this attention, has pronounced antioxidant properties, reduces headaches or dizziness, calms, relieves stress. For women of reproductive age, it can serve as a light contraceptive.

As a consequence, immunity rises, and a person feels more healthy, stronger.

Another positive feature of "Melaxen" is that it is completely absorbed, and then quickly eliminated from the body.

Despite the fact that the drug is a good sedative, it, like any drug has contraindications. "Melaxen" instruction does not recommend:

  • People with individual intolerance
  • Allergy sufferers
  • Epileptics
  • Suffering leukogranulomatosis, diabetes, kidney disease, lymphoma or myeloma
  • Pregnant or lactating women
  • People suffering from any autoimmune abnormalities

"Melaxen" in some patients can cause adverse reactions. They can be manifested in headaches, skin rashes. Sometimes there is a digestive disorder: diarrhea or constipation, vomiting, nausea. A part of people after taking the drug retains a strong morning drowsiness, sometimes even a clouding of consciousness. Especially often, a disorder of consciousness threatens people who are depressed. "Melaxen" can cause the appearance of edema and significantly reduce sexual desire, disrupt sexual functions.

That is why it is impossible to take it without prescribing a doctor and accurately selecting the dosage.

"Melaxen", an overdose of which is dangerous for life, can not be taken by those whose activities require special concentration, for example, drivers, teachers, pilots. After taking the medication, do not go out into the bright light.

When taking the drug, it should be noted that sharing it with certain drugs is dangerous. "Melaxen" and acetylsalicylic acid ("Aspirin") dramatically reduces the content of melatonin in the blood. The combination of the drug with oral contraceptives, some diuretics, penicillamine, isoniazid, theophylline also acts as a negative. "Melaxen" and antidepressants can lead to depression of consciousness. A strong negative reaction may occur with the combination of this drug and hormones.

Any medication, including "Melaxen" if used improperly, can be harmful. Therefore, before tackling self-medication, it is worth thinking about the possible consequences.
