MDF panels - dimensions. MDF wall panels - dimensions

Medium density fibreboards , Medium Density, or MDF are a versatile material for panels, easy to process. Numerous types of slabs solve the problem of manufacturing of commercial equipment, furniture, are used in construction industries, living quarters.

How do MDF?

The MDF panel is made of lignocellulosic fibers of coniferous or hardwood in a "dry" way, i.e. with a moisture content of fibers of less than 20% in the molding step. The process of obtaining finished products passes under the influence of temperature and pressure, with the addition of an adhesive. The raw materials are waste of lumber, knots and sawdust, which are crushed, softened with hot steam by means of special auger mechanisms. As an adhesive, urea formaldehyde and a wax emulsion are used. Drying of fibers with an adhesive mixture is carried out for a long time. The dry mixture forms on the plate with gradual compression. Then the formed plate is processed by pressure and temperature, and its color changes from light to chocolate. After cooling, each panel is cut to the desired size and grinded.

How are wall panels used?

Decorative surface finishes of the plates allow their use for partitioning. To create plating , MDF wall panels are used. Dimensions are presented in a very wide range - length from 900 to 3660 mm, width from 600 to 1800 mm. Standard plates for wide application in interior works are available with a thickness of 1.8 to 60 mm. Unlike most other wood and sheet materials, perfectly pressed material, with fiber distribution in thickness, makes it easy to handle MDF and apply a variety of coatings that create certain areas of application of the board. With the help of tools, it is easy to fit the panels to the desired dimensions or to take advantage of the available dimensions and thickness of the sheet. Coating by different methods allows you to obtain products that have narrowly directional properties - resistance to moisture, fire. Decorative possibilities are also multifaceted due to powder coatings, multidimensionality of plates.

Features and parameters of MDF panels

Standard sizes are successfully used for the manufacture of countertops, door panels and drawers for cabinets or profile surfaces. Smooth and stable surfaces of MDF provide an excellent material for painting, applying decorative films or natural veneers. Stability, good machinability and high strength MDF create opportunities for use as an alternative to wood for wall panels and finishing partitions. Designed for use in the furniture industry, standard MDF is increasingly being used for the manufacture of trade hall equipment, exhibition exposures, lining, architectural elements and much more, where you can use the incredible possibilities of MDF - moisture resistance, high density, fire resistance, compatibility with other materials.

Special appointment

For carrying out of repair work and decoration of premises, MDF panels are used. Their sizes vary depending on the characteristics of the premises, personal preferences. Moisture-resistant boards are used for wall finishing of the bathroom, doors and other internal elements where resistance to wet conditions or periodic wetting is an important requirement.

Fireproof plates are increasingly used for built-in furniture, doors and panels in private rooms, in public buildings or in other areas where fire safety rules are important.

MDF of increased density improves processing and mechanical characteristics, therefore it is used for the production of decor elements, kitchen furniture, doors, skirting boards, various details that have traditionally been made from wood.

Melanin coating

The panel with a powder coating is an element combining versatility and functionality. The colors of MDF panels are metallic, pearl and other shades of the palette. Designed to create original interiors in residential or commercial projects. The pre-prepared MDF panel is covered with a primer, which is intended for further powder coating on the surface on both sides. Powder paint of various colors is applied under the influence of temperature and creates a firm, level surface that does not separate from the increased temperature and humidity. Powder painting is an ideal solution for finishing processed components and wood-fiber boards, creating a seamless finish and providing freedom of design at an economical price. In addition, the durability of the powder coating guarantees a longer life cycle and low maintenance costs for the MDF panel. Dimensions of fiberboard are practically unlimited. With such a finish, panels specially made for any project are available to everyone.

Design of MDF

To create a unique image of the room apply MDF panels, the size and style of which allow you to choose from a variety of options suitable for you. The panels are glued, slotted, consisting of several elements that constitute an openwork panel panel to create partitions, are actively used for zoning residential or working space. Finishing of such products is different - melanin coating, for painting, film, one-sided and two-sided.

Panels with drawing and subsequent lamination were originally intended for furniture, but now they are used as walling in children's rooms, in the kitchen, in the bathroom, in bedrooms. There are no restrictions, because such drawings can be pre-selected or take advantage of the wide offer available in the trade.

Decorative MDF panels with three-dimensional volume trim in the form of thread, wave, geometric volumetric figures have recently been used by designers. Such a finishing material simultaneously acts as a heater and isolates unnecessary noise.

What does the cost of MDF panels for walls depend on? The price for these plates varies because of the size and processing technique. But this material is much cheaper than wood massif, it is easier to process, has a natural origin and a wide choice of design solutions, does not require after installation of permanent care.
