Finishing block house. Types of block house and installation technology

The modern construction market is in constant improvement. Appear very comfortable products for repair and decoration of houses. Many of them can be used to cover walls from the inside and outside. Finishing block house - a relatively new material - became possible only a few years ago. Let's get to know her better.

Method for manufacturing a finishing structure

There are enough analogues among finishing building materials. So, the block house can be compared with the lining. The starting material for the production of the latter is a flat board. At the heart of the new product is a whole log.

Block House "Tree" is a design obtained on machines designed for wood processing. The technology of its production consists in the implementation of the "square in the circle" scheme. The raw material - the log - is processed until a square profile is obtained. Cutted planes with a semicircular shape are a preform for the production of block house.

Next, the workpieces are pruned, pruned, equipped with a lock of the spike-groove type and special incisions on the reverse side. Advantages of the new material are as follows:

  1. To produce the panel of the block house, a natural material is used - wood, with high quality characteristics.
  2. The ease and simplicity of connecting the elements of the construction with each other gives it a significant advantage over its counterpart - the lining.
  3. Sheathing with block house gives the house a log-like texture.
  4. Simplicity of assembly and a well-thought-out system for connecting panels together allow you to house the house itself, without involving specialists.

Types and purpose of the block house

Wooden modern decoration element block house is produced with different sizes. Dimensions and thickness determine the direction of its use:

  • The panel for external finishes has a width of 19 cm or more, its thickness should be at least 3.6 cm.
  • Block house for interior decoration of the room has narrower shapes. The width of such elements can not be more than 9 cm.
  • Wide block-house - outdoor - is used not only in the decoration of houses. For all buildings that require thermal insulation, combined with an external design, you can use this material.

In addition to various types of wood, the production of block house made of plastic and metal, imitating a tree, and, naturally, differing in value, is established. So, if you take a vinyl block house under a log, its price will start from 200 rubles per square meter. This very light material, used for the lining of summerhouses and summer cafes, is in great demand.

And the price of metal block house is less than for products made of natural wood, but above the vinyl analogue - from 500 rubles per square meter.

Features and advantages of the block house

Those who start building a house, find the possibility of saving, you can offer its basics of cheaper materials, followed by facing the finished house with decorative material that mimics the natural. Of the entire set of proposals the most popular and relatively inexpensive, is considered a block-house finish.

The panel house blocks have many advantages:

  • High strength, resistance to mechanical damage.
  • Aesthetic appearance of the room after facing the block house.
  • A fairly lightweight panel does not create a heavy load on the foundation of the house, the foundation.
  • It serves as a good protection of the house design, contributes to the preservation of heat inside it.
  • Provides quality of furnish of facades of houses, baths, cellars, arbours.
  • It is resistant to temperature changes, without the effects of the appearance of external defects in the form of cracks, distortions, thanks to the technology of waxing.

In addition, to date, finishing the house block house requires less financial costs compared to other analogues that have similar characteristics.

Lacks of facing material

As any building product block house is characterized by some drawbacks:

  1. Despite the simple principles of installation, it is necessary to comply with the technology of lining, so that there are no costs in the form of deformation processes.
  2. Low vapor permeability index. As a result of its influence on the inner surface of the panel, condensation can accumulate.
  3. Ultraviolet radiation reduces the life of the block house.
  4. Panel house blocks can be used as decorative material for facing. Characteristics of a heater for this material are absent. If it is required to finish the block house with insulation, it is necessary to use additional heaters - natural or synthetic.
  5. Required maintenance in the process of operation, as the dust, dirt, settled on the surface, will spoil the overall appearance.
  6. High degree of flammability.

Panels for exterior plating

Block house on the market comes in polyethylene packaging. The choice of the basis of the material is quite diverse. The customer can choose panels from pine, spruce, larch or oak.

Dimensions of the boards are as follows:

  • Length of boards - 2 m or 6 m;
  • Width and thickness vary - for a width of 90 mm, thickness is 20 mm, a board with a width of 140 mm has a thickness of 30 mm, and a wider panel has a thickness of 45 mm.

At present, the finishing panel is delivered to the consumer in a ready-to-install form, that is, it is equipped with the necessary fasteners. Block house in this design greatly simplifies and speeds up the lining of surfaces.

Preparing for plating

Getting started with the woody appearance of the panels, you need to perform some preliminary operations:

  1. Treatment of wood elements with an antiseptic preparation that prevents decay of wood, and additional treatment with flame retardant, which will increase the resistance to fire and the effect of mold. At present, the manufacturer produces material that has already been processed.
  2. A film of vapor barrier material is attached around the perimeter of the house with a small overlap, fastening it with staples, using a construction stapler.
  3. On top of the vapor barrier, the crate is set up using the uneven bars. To the facade of wood or clay they are attached with self-tapping screws, and for a brick base they use frame dowels. Fixation of the bars is made after checking their horizontal position by the level. It serves as the basis for mounting the block house.

Next, laying the insulation blocks in the prepared cells of the crate.

Tools and fasteners for facade mounting

The metal block house, whose price is much higher than other types of panels, has gained popularity due to the external effect of the facades of private houses. To cope with the cladding of this material with your own hands, without the involvement of specialists, you need to have a basic knowledge of construction, the ability to own an instrument.

So, before starting work, you need to make sure you have the necessary tools, fasteners and materials:

  • Staple fiberglass and fibrous thermo-insulating material (mineral wool) to ensure heat preservation, sound reduction and vapor barrier (used in the form of plates);
  • Special materials for the protection of walls and insulation from the effects of moisture. The most practical is considered foiled kraft paper or film;
  • Bruski from a tree for formation of a crate (the sizes of these elements: 40 х 50 mm, 30 х 50 mm);
  • Hammer for work with galvanized nails;
  • Drill with screwdriver functions;
  • Tool for forming the dimensions of wooden parts, saw, jig saw or simple hacksaw;
  • Water building level;
  • Stapler for building insulation materials;
  • Fastening elements: self-tapping screws, nails, kleimers.

Step-by-step phases of the facade cladding

Installation of the panel house blocks on the external walls is done on the prepared surface. The operation is the same for all types of this facing material:

  1. Before starting work, a vinyl block of houses under a log, the price of which is available to homeowners of medium income, is laid out in a room to adapt the material to the environment. Such a procedure should be applied to any kind of block house panels to avoid shrinkage and the possibility of skewing the finished skin. Do it recommended only in summer dry weather. In winter, block-house plating is allowed only inside the heated premises.
  2. The surface of the walls must be cleaned of old plating and soiling.
  3. The prepared surface of the facade is covered with a vapor barrier material, attaching it to the wall with a construction tape.
  4. On top of the vapor barrier layer, using wooden blocks in the size of 50x50 mm, the installation of the crate is carried out. On a brick surface it is fastened with dowels, and self-tapping screws are used for a wooden facade.
  5. Wooden crate should be treated with special products that protect the tree from decay and insect pests;
  6. In the cells of the battens, heat insulation plates are placed and a moisture-absorbing film is attached to it.
  7. Produce the installation of an additional crate of bruski size 30x40 mm. This is necessary to ensure ventilation between the layers of heat, steam, moisture and cladding block house.
  8. Block-house panels are placed on top, after marking the boundaries of the site intended for work. The first element is fixed to the wall strictly horizontally, since it represents the basis of the skin. This is checked using the building level.
  9. The finishing of the block-house facade requires the panels to be positioned downward, which will prevent moisture from entering under the shell, protect the inside of the panel from decay and increase the service life.
  10. The following panel components are inserted, placing the spike into the groove at an angle of 45 °. They are to the crate by screws or nails, being careful not to damage the part.
  11. On the finished plating, additional measures are necessary to mask the fasteners with plugs and paste prepared by mixing sawdust and glue.

Fastening of panels can be conducted on self-tapping screws and nails, followed by the procedure of their masking. The second version of the assembly is carried out with the help of Kleimers - special metal plates, having a platform with a mounting bracket, for fixing one of the adjacent parts of the groove.

Elements of the block house have openings for self-tapping screws or nails and a foot for setting the stud of the block house in the groove of the previous panel. Preparing the assembly of the blockhouse for the Kleimer consists in fixing the latter to the crate.

It is recommended to fasten the closing strip of the block-house with self-tapping screws or nails, ensuring its more reliable, strong fixation.

Decoration of the external corner of the facade by block-house

The finishing of the facade is completed by the design of the corners. The complexity of this stage is that when joining the panels end to end, a special sawing of the ends of the block house is required. This operation requires the use of a special tool. In addition, tight docking will create a problem of free deformation of the panels when the temperature of the surrounding air changes. That is, to perform the docking of the corners of the block house on the facade can only specialists.

When doing independent work, it is more expedient to use ready-made docking elements - slats and corners. These parts can close the joints of the block house on the corners of the facade. Attached with a special adhesive compound, they seal the joint sealed and perform a decorative function.

Another option is a rounded wooden bar, 50x50 mm.

Design of platbands

Another necessary operation at the lining of the house is the decoration of the platbands. This element of the house has a dual function:

  1. Window decoration, decoration of the facade, creation of the exterior of the house.
  2. Masking slots, an additional way of warming the interior space of the room, protecting it from drafts of dust and moisture.

That the facade had the completed kind, windows and entrance doors framed by platbands. They can be flat, semi-circular and figured. Fasten the construction in the usual way, framing the windows with overhead slats. The second way is more perfect, has a special design with projections designed for fastening to the window frame.

Rules for the care of facade skin

Block house, after completion of the installation work must be prepared for long-term operation. For this purpose:

  • Surface treatment of the material with colorless antiseptics and stains based on wax or alcohol;
  • Coating varnish or special paint, designed to protect wood from the effects of ultraviolet dried out base layer;
  • Sandpaper treatment of a completely dry coating;
  • Additional surface treatment with a layer of lacquer (paint).

The performed operations will protect the skin of the house from the effects of external climatic conditions, and extend the life of its operation.

Block house for interior finishing after the completion of the work is subjected to similar treatment after five years, after preliminary inspection of the coating. The detected damage must be eliminated before the facade surface is updated.
