It never occurred to you that a book already written and, as such, the ability to write is something from the field of a hen and an egg (which was the first one)? Curiously, if people did not learn to express their thoughts in writing, then there would be no books! In turn, without already written textbooks, children will not be able to learn a letter! In the end, if we had not learned to write, then this article would not have been born! Let's talk about what absolutely everyone needs to know, namely about writing. About its origin and benefit to man. What for it is necessary?

The emergence of writing is one of the most important moments of the culture of all mankind. After all, we are surrounded by inscriptions everywhere. Imagine that they suddenly disappear ... How will we live on - writing love letters, social networks and, in the end, signing important documents? In addition, we do not know what route our bus follows, what is sold on the shelves of a store, what picture is being shown in the cinema now, how to take medicines properly, and this is what all modern people need to know ...

How did writing come about?

Once people were illiterate - they could not read or write. However, this does not at all speak of their stupidity. At the dawn of the life of mankind, their knowledge of the world around them was so insignificant that they simply did not require any written fixation. After all, the fact that you need to know absolutely everything at that time, for example, the history of your family, customs and legends, the art of hunting, fit perfectly in the memory of an ancient man. But time passed inexorably forward, and human knowledge expanded more and more. And now, when all the knowledge could not fit in the head of one person, writing arose!

Pictograms

This is the oldest form of writing. Pictograms are what absolutely all living people need to know, who want to be culturally enlightened. Of course, this is not quite an inscription, but it's not just pictures! Ancient people "told" about their customs, exploits and way of life, drawing us "messages from the past" on the walls of their homes, for example, in a cave. Over time, the pictograms turned into hieroglyphics.

Modern pictograms

Do you think that in our time any picture messages are used? Of course! And the most famous of them are pictograms of what absolutely all people who run this or that vehicle need to know. Guessed? That's right, these are road signs (for example, "main road" or "speed limit" and so on). In addition, we can see pictograms at airports, office buildings and so on, because they also help us navigate where inscriptions are impossible or made in a foreign language. For example, at the airport of any country, we can understand where the exit or toilet is.

And finally ...

According to scientists, some time after the appearance of pictograms and hieroglyphs, a period came when people could already know about everything that was somehow connected with the transfer of information (drawings, gestures, logical connection between several hieroglyphs), and therefore, to convey the full picture Which is happening in a new, hitherto unexplored way. It was then, historians believe, that man came up with the first letters.
