Memorable dates of Russia. Memorable dates of Russia's military glory

Memorable dates of Russia are not just calendar numbers that repeat from year to year ... No! These are the most important historical events, remember and tell about which books, teachers, parents should ... But in practice the situation develops in a completely different way: the new generation does not suspect about the great exploits of its people!

Formalities

The state, for its part, tried to maximally fix and designate memorable dates in the history of Russia, but this was not enough. On the territory of our country, the Federal Law "On the Days of Military Glory and the Memorable Dates of Russia" of 1995 is in force. However, it is necessary to learn about such things not only by reading the legal literature, studying the law on the memorable dates of Russia, but also at the ordinary level of consciousness and development: according to parents' stories, books, according to information from the Internet, there are a lot of sources. In order to eliminate such misunderstandings, we will tell about some events of the historical calendar.

Battle on the Ice

In total, the calendar of Russia's memorable dates includes 15 historically significant events. Each of them, undoubtedly, deserves special attention, but children must know about the Battle of the Ice from the initial classes.

This historic event occurred on April 18, and the main hero of the Battle of the Ice is undoubtedly the famous Alexander Nevsky. In 1242, German knights, better known as the Crusaders, attacked Great Russia. The battle took place on Lake Peipsi. Undoubtedly, the historical figure of Alexander Nevsky deserves special attention in the annals of the Middle Ages. Such memorable dates in the history of Russia are important because they show the valor and courage of the Russian people: the great and mighty.

Thanks to the Battle of Ice, our troops broke down the plans of the Germans for the successful conquest of the eastern territories, and also for a long time secured the borders of their homeland.

The Battle of Kulikovo

September 21 the whole country honors the memory of Dmitry Donskoy, who became the winner in one more grandiose battle - in the battle on the Kulikovo field. This was the first victory over the Tatar-Mongols, which served as the most important impetus for the formation of independence and the gradual liberation from the oppression of foreign invaders.

In 1380, on September 8, the greatest battles between representatives of the Golden Horde led by Mamai and brave Russian warriors-assistants to the Grand Duke Dmitry Donskoy-turned up. It is worth noting that initially the head of All Russia pursued a national liberation policy and, thanks to his perseverance, achieved staggering results. And this is reminded every year of the memorable dates of Russia's military glory.

November 7 - the liberation of Moscow

Two big names - Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky - are still heard by every resident of the modern state. And all thanks to the fact that on this memorable day in 1612 the people's militia defeated the Polish interventionists, who so brazenly encroached on the territory and property of the Motherland! It is important to prepare a good message here: Russia's memorable dates associated with November are usually associated with the Battle of Poltava.

The history of this event began back in 1609, when the Polish army attempted an illegal invasion of the territory of the Russian state, which was crowned with success. After Basil Shuisky actually folded the powers of the board, the Polish interventionists illegally took the reins of government in their own hands.

In connection with the apparent injustice, the people's discontent gradually began to grow in the country, and political trends against the invaders began to form. At the height of public unrest Kuzma Minin directed the militia, and voivode Dmitry Pozharsky was responsible for all military operations.

So memorable dates of the military history of Russia have been replenished with another significant event.

The first sea victory

August, 1714 year. Thanks to the great reforms of the powerful autocrat Peter I, every Russian citizen proudly remembers the first significant victory of the navy. The commander-in-chief of that battle was Peter the Great himself and won a stunning victory over the Swedish troops near Cape Gangut.

Another victory of Peter I

Great memory of the Russian people honors victory in the Battle of Poltava, which happened in 1709. And, of course, the brilliant commander-in-chief of the army was the outstanding Peter I.

This time the brave guys of the Russian Empire stopped the attempt to seize the territory by Swedish troops under the leadership of Charles XII. The date is considered memorable not only thanks to the brilliant victory, but also thanks to the fact that the bowl of victorious scales of the Northern War after such a battle has leaned in favor of Russia. This is a significant event the first Russian emperor dubbed "a victory over the second Poltava" - the largest naval victory of our people.

Holiday February 23

It so happened that on February 23 the whole country celebrates a holiday called Defender of the Fatherland Day. However, not everyone knows that in 1918 the Red Army won a landmark victory over the Kaiser troops.

When Trotsky declared that Russia would never sign peace, in 1918 German troops considered this statement as a unique occasion for an attack and a quick war, having launched an offensive along the entire front line. In the first place, the Petrograd direction was under threat. In the evening of February 23, the enemy troops stopped at Pskov.

From this date and for five days fierce battles were fought with the Red Army for the freedom of the Russian people. On February 28, the first lines of heroic glory already spread throughout the state: the population knew their heroes! This is how the memorable dates of February appeared in Russia. Noting February 23 as the Defender of the Fatherland Day, it is important to remember the great victory of the Russian troops over the enemies of Kaiser Germany.

Memory of the Battle of Stalingrad

The next bright star, which consecrates the memorable dates of Russia, is the day of the defeat of the German troops in the Battle of Stalingrad. A great historical event occurred on February 2, 1943.

We all remember that the Battle of Stalingrad is one of the most memorable battles of the Great Patriotic War. The broadest resistance began in the summer of 1942 and lasted almost 365 days. Many months of defense showed that the strength of German soldiers was enough only to advance 80 kilometers forward. But still a multiple increase in the enemy relics of soldiers and equipment took its toll: August 23 was captured by Stalingrad. The clock of penetration of Germans into the city became the most horrible for its inhabitants. The bombing lasted for several days, the volleys continuously lashed the city. But even at this seemingly crucial moment, the Russians did not let themselves fall in the spirit! Within a few months, a fierce struggle was fought for every building, street, and city district.

November. Almost the whole city is captured. At that time the Soviet people did not even suspect that the battle for Stalingrad would enter the memorable dates of Russia. Before the Volga River, there were sometimes a couple of hundred meters.

In the period of intense military operations, on a day when everything seemed to be over, the Soviet commanders-in-chief began to work out a plan for a counter-offensive. Considerable help in implementing the plan was provided by the people's reserves, thanks to which the enemy gradually became a powerful circle of encirclement. Suspected of an unfavorable move by Soviet soldiers, the German command attempted to disrupt the operation, which was immediately suppressed on the spot. So the cunning of the commanders, the courage of the soldiers and the incredible will of the Russian people brought victory. A huge number of prisoners of war was taken, including 2,500 soldiers and about 24 generals. That's such a memorable military date in Russia knows the national history.

The lifting of the siege of Leningrad

Military events of 1944 know the whole world. In August 1941, the enemy offensive began on the second most important Russian capital, Leningrad. Soon the city was in a German environment. The siege lasted 880 days. As a result of the furious attack, more than 640,000 city residents died. The victory went at a high price. But even in such a desperate situation, the national spirit of the inhabitants was not broken. Gradually arriving help, thoughts of imminent release, unwillingness to surrender to the enemy in captivity helped with the shame of expelling the troops of the fascist invaders outside the Soviet Union! That is why every resident of the modern Russian state should remember that the holidays and memorials of Russia include an event called the lifting of the siege of Leningrad - January 27.

The list of significant dates devoted to the great historical events does not end there. It is possible to talk for a very long time about the exploits of the Russian people, describing each of them in bright colors. Therefore, modern society should never forget what our mighty ancestors did for us.
