Late reproductive age, perimenopause

The reproductive period is primarily a period of fertility, during which the woman retains the ability to conceive and bear childbearing. The duration of the fertile period always depends on the boundaries of reproductive age.
The fertile period in the life of each woman begins with the onset of the first menstruation and ends with menopause. Proceeding from the demographic analysis, it has its limits: the lower one is the age of 15 years, the upper reaches the mark of 50 years. But nevertheless the duration of the reproductive period directly depends on the woman's health.

The right to reproductive choice is an integral part of human rights. And the opportunity to realize their reproductive rights must certainly be guaranteed by the state and be secured through special legislation.
To date, the activities of public and state organizations should first of all be aimed at protecting the reproductive health of women and those segments of the population who are at risk for both social and medical conditions. In recent years, the woman's late reproductive age began to attract more and more attention. This is due primarily to the fact that the population of this age group has increased significantly.

Representatives of the fair sex at the age of 35 to 45 years make up about 30% of the total number of women of reproductive age.

Women who are late in reproductive age, first of all, are at risk due to pregnancy. In this category of women, pregnancy is rarely planned and in most cases ends with abortion.

The onset of pregnancy in late reproductive age is a fairly high probability of miscarriage, postpartum bleeding, fetoplacental insufficiency, the birth of children with a reduced body weight, and the like. The number of spontaneous abortions, which are associated with genetic disorders, in women whose reproductive age is approaching the period of perimenopause, reaches 75%. Although a woman aged and pregnant - the concepts are quite compatible, especially now.

Based on the above, women at this age - a group of people who need a special program for the protection of reproductive health. Late reproductive age also needs a special differentiated approach to the designation of safe and effective contraception, which will combine both preventive and curative qualities. The need of many women for effective contraception during the perimenopause is obvious and requires the intervention of both society and the state as a whole. This will help raise the demographic situation in our country and improve the quality of life.
