But basically the skimmer for the pool just transfers the flow of water into the filter system. However, the device is not always part of the filtration system. Recently, the so-called hinged skimmer, which is completely autonomous, is quite widespread. Skimmer hinged strengthened on the side of the inside and does not need to be embedded in a stationary filter system. Basically, such equipment for the pool is provided with a return tube, which makes it possible to work without failures and autonomously.

Installing the skimmer

To ensure that the water does not pour over the edges when swamping it over the edges, the skimmer for the pool is located 15 cm below the upper edge of the rim. In the pool itself it is set so that the water mirror is in the middle of its window. It is known that the volume of water displaced by a person is equal to the volume of its body. The more people swim at the same time in the pool, the higher the water will rise.

Scientists have proved that no matter how careful the person is, he will still bring into the water about 300 000 bacteria, even if he washed before that. There is sweating, hair can fall out, skin microscopic particles peel off. Therefore, if at least one bather has visited the pool, the water is considered contaminated. The pool is polluted not only by people, but also by dust, and if the pond is on the street, it may contain leaves, insects and other debris. Basically, all the dirt accumulates on the surface of the water, and the skimmer for the pool just collects the top layer. With the help of a skimmer, the pump sucks water from the surface, then it passes the filtration, is heated and is already cleaned back.

Skimmers differ in three main parameters:

1. The size. There are large, medium and small.
2. Material. They are made of stainless steel, plastic and bronze - three basic substances that can be used for the pool.
3. Construction. Combined and single skimmers with mechanical underfill.
4. Decorating the bowl. For concrete or film.
5. Type of installation. Built-in and hinged.

Individual models are supplied with gaskets and additional flange positions, which makes it possible to use such skimmers in pools decorated with mosaic and liner. The main elements of the skimmer, included in the kit, are the front decorative panel, gaskets, lid, skimmer, basket and float.
