Kindness is strength or weakness?

Here, perhaps, there can not be two opinions. And in life, and in philosophy for people, kindness is virtue, it's value. This is when viewed from the universal positions. Each of us would like to deal with those who are indulgent with our mistakes, with those who are ready to forgive and understand, Who sincerely wants to support. After all, for most people, kindness is a quality in which "wanting and doing good" for others, first of all, becomes the need of the soul.

However, we will think about this from the point of view ... no, not cynical, a little more pragmatic. So, the one who does good, is approaching the divine truth. But how to distinguish between intentions and manifestations? Is it superficial or forced from the sincere? Here is an example: an alcoholic in the family. For him, as a rule, on the part of close kindness is forgiveness, this is the lack of criticism and the imposition of his will on him. Simply put, he believes that if someone wishes him good, he will not force him to be treated. A good wife will take him, call for work, get a bottle ... But in fact, every next dose of alcohol kills him, brings an inevitable end, exacerbates the suffering of the whole family and him in particular. So unless in this case kindness is indulgence to weaknesses and illnesses? Psychologists and therapists say the opposite: a greater benefit in this case can be done if you turn away from the patient. Allow him to fall, so that later he had a chance to rise. After all, sober can not be "violent," it must come from the person himself. Therefore, he must realize all the horror of his situation. And how can he do this, if his family does not give him the opportunity to understand that something is wrong?

Another example that will show us that kindness is a relative concept, trade and business. Of course, social responsibility, good intentions, the desire to bring people benefits are important components of success. However, what can the kindness of people doing business be? In giving work to those in need of it? Probably yes. But what if they do not possess the necessary qualities, qualifications, knowledge? Will they benefit business and the common cause or will they accelerate bankruptcy? An entrepreneur can, for example, dedicate all his earnings and charity. But then business will have nothing to develop, cash receipts will run low ... And the company will have to close. Or another example: can an entrepreneur be kind to his partners and competitors? That is, to enter a position, to meet, help and forgive, for example, defects or marriage?

From all of the above, we see that kindness is a concept that depends on interpretation, on what exactly the speaker puts into the meaning of the word. We can also conclude that this is relative, not absolute, value in real life. The theme of "kindness" has taken people for a long time. First of all, in relation to the supreme powers, to the gods. Are they good or, in the first place, fair? Is it possible that these two concepts exclude each other? Are these higher forces indifferent to the fate of a person or take part in it, are sympathetic? And finally, do the gods forgive or punish? If punished, then proceeding from what - from actions, manifestations of human qualities or intentions? As you can see, these questions have remained unanswered from time immemorial. We have given several examples in which kindness is a weakness. However, others are possible. Where kindness is power, it is the power of forgiveness. Everyone, however, solves this problem for himself.
