Jordi Masip was born on January 3, 1989 in Spain, in the Catalan city of Sabadell. Therefore, naturally, from early childhood his dream was to speak for "Barcelona". At the age of twelve, he enrolled in the football academy of the club "Mercantil", where he spent the next three years, after which happened what he always dreamed of.

Jordi tried his hand at watching the youth of the "Barcelona" and was accepted. For three years he played for the youth teams of the Catalan club, until in 2007 he was offered a professional contract. Jordi Masip spent another year at the youth club of Barcelona, and then was leased to the Spanish club Vilaguita, where he played 24 matches, gaining much needed experience and making a good impression on the fans.

When Jordi Masip, whose biography in the "Barcelona" was clearly not the best way, returned from the lease, he could not find a place in the main team. He was sent again in a double, where he played for three years not too often - he appeared on the field only 24 times.

In the season 12/13 he defended at the gate in 21 matches, and in the next season - already 34 matches. As a result, in 2014, 25-year-old goalkeeper was finally upgraded to the main team, but there still remained on the role of reservist.

Each goalkeeper dreams on the back to have the first number, but this is not the case of this Spanish goalkeeper. Jody Masip's number is 25, but he does not pretend to do anything more. He is the third goalkeeper in the "Barcelona" - in two seasons from 2014 to 2016 he was sitting on the bench under Claudio Bravo and Mark-Andre Ter Stegen. During this time he went on the field four times - three of them in the Cup of Spain and one - in the Championship of Spain.

In the current season, Claudio Bravo left the club, and Mark André ter Stegen became the main goalkeeper, but he was replaced by the Dutchman Jasper Silesen, and Masip again became the third goalkeeper. To date, this season he has not played a single match for the team, but he is not going to leave the club either. He has another year of the contract, which he may well extend, even as the third goalkeeper, he has already twice won the Championship of Spain, twice - the winner of the Cup of Spain, and once again - the winner of the Champions League.

National team appearances

In the national team of Spain with such a small amount of practice, of course, for Masipa no place. Moreover, he was not considered a particularly promising player even at a younger age, so he only has one match for the youth team of Spain to 17 years. Several times he was summoned to youth teams of this and other age categories, but he remained on the bench.

Separately, it should be told that Masip in 2014 received a call to the Catalan national team and played two matches in its composition. But the Catalan national team is not official, it does not have the right to participate in major international tournaments, so all the matches that it holds are comradely.
