In our country, the International Father's Day took its place also in June, but only on the 2nd Sunday. Last year, this wonderful holiday fell on the 17th . A little bit about the history of my father's day

All countries are different, with their mentality, with their own principles and values. That's why the history of the holiday is different everywhere. The emergence of such a holiday as the International Father's Day, we are indebted to the US, since it was there that in 1909 the celebration of this wonderful day was held for the first time. The idea of creating a holiday belongs to Sonora Smart Dodd. The American wished to express her gratitude to her father, who brought up one of six children after the death of his wife. Mass this same event was only in 1910, June 19. Since that day, practically in every family, the International Father's Day has become a tradition. Official holiday was only in 1966. About the same time the holiday is celebrated in Canada, China.

  1. Canada. The word "father" means in this country "fatherland", therefore the holiday symbolizes the guarantee of preservation of family values.
  2. China. On this day, congratulate and honor the most senior men of the family. According to legends, the guarantee of happiness is living under the same roof for three generations. The attention and care that the children give to the elderly greatly influences their health.
  3. Australia. The purpose of his father's day here is (as in the United States), emphasizing the role of the father in education. In this country it is celebrated on the first Sunday of September. As gifts presented with chocolate, flowers and ties. Begin the holiday with a family breakfast, and end the hike, active games or walks.
