Japanese motifs of your image: Kansas style - bezel and other accessories

The eastern peoples, in particular the Japanese and the Chinese, have a very developed sense of beauty, aesthetic sense. They not only delicately feel the fleeting fragility and from this even greater value of true beauty, but they also try to surround themselves with beautiful things, objects, whether they are elements of everyday life or clothing, flora and fauna, works of art, ornaments. Kanzashi, or kan-zashi, also belongs to the realm of beauty.

What is Kanzash?

This is a different kind of accessories for creating and maintaining a hairstyle. The tradition to use them as jewelry for hair originated in the distant 18th century, when fashionable geisha dressed up not only in kimono, but also made complex hairstyles that required a large number of combs, studs and other "tools". At the same time, a Kanzash-rim appeared. They made such ornaments from precious wood, precious and ornamental stones, silver and gold, and the most expensive were made of tortoise shells and cranes. Decorated with kandzashi silk and satin ribbons, flowers and whole floral compositions, bows, rhinestones and gems. Charming, gentle, these accessories had to emphasize the femininity, the subtlety of their owners, and also to make it clear about their social status. In our time inexpensive Kanzash: a bezel, hairpins, combs, hair sticks are made of plastic or other inexpensive materials. However, in jewelry stores, kandzashi, standing whole fortunes, still often occur. And they are still worn with a kimono geisha or ordinary Japanese women on especially solemn occasions.

Kandzashi bezel

Suppose you yourself decided to try to make the simplest ornament in the style of Kanzash - the bezel. What is needed for this? Firstly, the bezel itself (more simply, the "hoop") for the hair, glass beads - transparent, faceted or imitation for pearls, threads with a needle, glue for fabrics, elegant silk or satin ribbons of soft shades: green apple, pink, heavenly Blue, etc., a width of 5 cm. Scissors, and another sample, which you will be guided by, master your Kanzash-bezel. In passing, we note: this technique is very effective even for creating a beautiful, stylish jewelry: earrings and clips, necklaces, etc. But back to the hoop.

  • Gently, overlap, wrap the hoop with the tape, what color accessory you want to have. Glue on the inside fix one end of the material and then the other. We are starting from this moment on the Kansas-master class: to braid the bezel - the simplest action from the upcoming.
  • Tapes need to be cut into squares of 5 cm and fold them as wrapped paper in origami crafts, folding a flower. That is, each is folded into a triangle, then one more time, then two ends are glued together, and the vertex of the third is cut off in a circle. You have received blanks of petals for the flower - the main decoration of the hoop. To the edges of the tapes are not showered, they need to be processed with a hot match, only to avoid the black scorching.
  • Make thus as many petals as on your sample. Kanzashi-style headbands can be as with one flower, voluminous, and with a few smaller ones. But the principle of their assembly is the same. With the help of glue, the blanks are connected to the inflorescence, the centers are made from beads - they are either glued or sewed. Then the composition is glued on the hoop itself.

Are satisfied with the result? Wear new, admire and pick up new samples for this amazing decoration - Kanzash! By the way, to begin with, practice on tissue paper or even napkins, nabeyte hand - then just very soon you will become in this business a true master. Or make small flowers for invisibility, hairpins - will come out very nice.
