Jame and Cersei Lannisters: the story of one love in "The Game of Thrones"

Everyone loves stories about love that makes people perform various feats. In books and films, usually noble persons are capable of such a strong feeling. But what if the love story is about a brother and sister who, contrary to the generally accepted laws and traditions, ventured to fight for their feelings? These lovers are Jamie and Cersei Lannister from the popular TV series "The Game of Thrones".

A little bit about the "Game of Thrones"

"Game of Thrones" - now a very popular fantasy series. His plot is based on a series of books by George Martin "Song of Ice and Flame". The name of the project was the name of the debut novel of the cycle - "The Game of Thrones".

According to the plot, in the fictional world on the mainland of Vasteras, the power struggle begins between the strongest noble families. The reason for this is the intrigues of the wife of the ruler of the mainland - Cersei. The fact is that the twins Jame and Cersei Lannister have been lovers for many years. Moreover, all the children of the king in the reality of the bastard Jame.

Cersei Lannister (actress Lina Hidi)

Cersei is the eldest of three children of Tywyn and Joanna Lannister. She also has two brothers - twin Jame and dwarf Tirion. She is an incredibly beautiful, cunning and ambitious woman. However, vanity vanishes, which is why she commits many crimes. It is noteworthy that Cersei in the television series is more intelligent and far-sighted than in the book.

In her youth, Cersei was in love with Prince Reagar, but during the uprising he was killed by Robert Baratheon.

When the dynasty of the Baratheons reigns on the throne, Sercea is married to her representative - King Robert. However, the famous hero in reality turns out to be a narrow-minded person, a drunkard and a womanizer. Cersei gradually takes power in their hands.

Among other things, even after the royal wedding, the twins Jame and Cersei Lannister continue their long romance.

However, over time, some courtiers begin to guess about incest. Therefore, in order to save herself and the children, whom Cersei loves very much, she organizes the murder of the king-wife. In addition, the Queen mercilessly dealt with rebelling enemies and raises her elder son, Bastard Joffrey, to the throne.

Many lords do not want to obey the new ruler. Only the forces of her father, Cersei Tavin, her son manages to keep the throne. Soon Taywin decides to strengthen his power to marry his daughter to the noble nobleman Willas Tyrell and remove him from the royal court.

Because of the confluence of circumstances, the father dies, and Cersei remains at court, moreover, after the death of her eldest son, power passes to the youngest, still very young Tommen, whom the queen can easily manage. However, in the face of his wife's son, Cersei sees a competitor. The fact is that even in her youth, she was predicted that she would become a queen, but later lose power because of a younger rival.

Trying to get rid of Margerie's intrigues, Cersei herself falls into the trap - she is accused of betraying her husband. After that, she is in prison and is gradually going crazy, waiting for the trial for all her deeds.

This is the story of the book Cersei until it ends, however, according to the events of the sixth season of the series, the queen, having lost all power to deal with his enemies overnight, blows up a septa where they all gathered. After their death, as well as the suicide of the youngest son of Cersei, Lannister (actress Lina Hidi) is crowned as the first Queen of Västerås.

In the television series, the role of Cersei was performed by British actress Lina Hidi (known for the works "The Jungle Book", "Gossip", "Brothers Grimm", "300 Spartans", "Judge Dredd 3D"). For the "Game of Thrones" she was repeatedly nominated for "Emmy", "Saturn" and other prestigious awards.

Young Sercea in the series played Nell Williams.

Brother Cersei Lannister - Jame (actor Nikolai Koster-Waldau)

Unlike his ambitious sister, Jame Lannister did not crave for power. From the very childhood he showed himself as an excellent swordsman and experienced warrior. Despite his beauty and charm, which would help him achieve the favor of any woman, he faithfully loves his sister. Learning that they want to marry, Jame becomes a knight of the Royal Guard, since they are forbidden to marry. Unlike Cersei, he loves his younger brother, the dwarf Tirion, and takes care of him.

During the uprising, he killed King Eyrez, for which he received the nickname "Tzarebiytsa."

At the very beginning of the cycle, while staying in Winterfell, Jame and Cersei, the Lannisters were accidentally seen by the master's son while they were making love. Jaime throws the boy out of the tower window so that he does not tell us what he saw.

After the outbreak of the civil war, Jaime is captured. Soon, Jaime is released by Caitlyn Stark, the mother of one of the pretenders to the throne, taking from him the promise that he will protect her daughters. Jame is accompanied by the only female knight Vasteras - Brienne Tart. After being captured, Jaime saves Brienne from rape, and she helps him survive the transformation into a cripple (Jaime chop off the right hand).

Returning to the court, Jame goes to the conflict with his father. He also has problems with Cersei, which now is relatively cold.

Later, Jame is poisoned to fight. When a letter comes to him from Cersei urgently to come and protect her, Jaime ignores him. Later, he meets with Brienna and goes with her to save Kaitlyn Stark's daughters, as promised.

In the series, Jame continues to love Cersei and after her betrayal. Moreover, he always tries to help her. However, at the end of the sixth season, seeing how the sister became a queen, disappointed.

Actor Nikolai Koster-Waldau (Enigma, Wimbledon, The Kingdom of Heaven, Firewall, Head Hunters and others) plays an excellent role in the series "The Game of Thrones". Jamie Lannister in his performance turned out to be a more lively and sensitive character, rather than described in the book.

Children

Jame and Cersei had three children: the sons of Geoffrey and Tommen, and also the daughter of Mircell. According to the events of the television series, they all died, as predicted by the prophecy. In the book cycle, only Joffrey died.

It is known that Cersei once became pregnant with Robert, but she urged Jaime to help her get rid of the child, since she wanted all her children to be from her brother.

Relations on the side

Cersei was a pretty loving woman. She often cheated on both Robert and Jamie. She still loved her brother.

Unlike his sister, Jame was faithful to her. In the television series, even after learning about her betrayal, he continues to defend and defend her interests. In parallel, Jame has feelings for Brienne Tart. She is ugly, but faithful to her duty, like a real knight. This first causes Jame to mock, but later he begins to respect her and trust her. Brienne falls in love with Jama, because he sees in him a lot of good, hidden under a mask. Whether there is a future for this pair is still unknown.

The love story of the twins Cersei and Jame from the "Game of Thrones" raises many heated debates. Some condemn the lovers not only for the unnatural connection, but also for the fact that the Lannisters actually unleashed a civil war. Others, on the contrary, sympathize with their brother and sister and admire them. In any case, this love story did not leave anyone indifferent.
