It's time to charge the battery, how to properly implement it

Proper operation and charging of the battery - a pledge of his loyal, long service. It is not by chance that many people are interested in the question of how to properly charge and how to calculate the battery charging time. The main reasons for its damage can be the excess of the charge time and a significant increase in the value of the charge. Also for high-quality recharging, you should monitor the battery's temperature.

To date, developed a great variety of chargers that not only control the charging mode, but also provide excellent battery safety.

In the new phone, the battery will not be fully charged, so it needs recharging. For good battery performance, it's better to "swing". For NiMH, three complete cycles should be performed. The charging time of the battery in this case is 12-14 hours. After this, discharge the battery "to the end". The first charge of the Li-Ion battery should last up to 16 hours. After that, with each cycle, the battery operation will increase until it reaches its nominal capacity.

Charging

During charging, the charger and the battery itself may become slightly warm. Do not be too nervous - this is normal. If the battery charging time does not last long, it is much less than the instruction specifies, while considerable heating is observed, this indicates a malfunction of the battery or charger. It is advisable to avoid a strong charge - it is not liked by all types of batteries. Leaving the charge overnight for NiMH is not recommended, as this will eventually lead to a decrease in the usable capacity of the battery.

And for Li-Ion, on the contrary, the longer the battery charge time, the better. The indicator shows the end of the charging process in about an hour. But at the same time, the battery accumulates only 80% of the charge. The remaining 20% it can take, if it does not turn off the network for the next 2-3 hours.

NiMH batteries are reliable and cheap. They are resistant to various impacts. They grow old only from natural wear and tear. The total amount of energy delivered by the battery is invariable and does not depend on whether full or surface charges will be conducted with it. Here you can draw an analogy with a loaf - regardless of the number of sliced slices, the loaf does not become bigger or smaller.

More expensive Li-Ion-batteries have comparatively light weight, their capacity is higher by 20%. They lack the "memory effect", as in models with NiMH-batteries. However, among the shortcomings can be called aging, which occurs two years later. It is necessary to check the date of production when purchasing. This battery is sensitive to low temperatures and shocks. If it overheats, it may explode.

Storage

For prolonged storage, for example, a year, it is necessary to take care of protecting the battery from humidity and high temperatures. Be sure to periodically recharge the battery. You can store the battery in the refrigerator, because low temperatures inhibit self-discharge. Put the battery in the freezer - it will deteriorate. After long-term storage, the battery charging time should be given the same as when purchasing a new battery.
