Internal dialogue: should it be stopped?

Everyone, in one way or another, uses an internal dialogue, because he is considered an integral part of our essence. The most elementary example: when you decide what to wear, shod or buy. You at this time seem to be consulting with yourself, give arguments for and against this or that decision. It is such a means of internal communication that helps us to more fully recreate the existing picture of the world, for example, by analyzing someone's actions, decisions, we thereby draw conclusions for ourselves, we find an anticipated way out of the situation and so on.

As soon as you start to think about this, you will notice that you spend almost the whole day doing what you think and calculate the correctness of the actions of your friends and acquaintances, relatives and other people around you. This is the problem of many people: they think too much of others, thus not being able to rest and live their own lives.

Then the question arises, how to stop the internal dialogue, to get rid of the constant emotional load? First of all, you need to understand the meaning of this lesson: is it worth thinking about what has already happened and what can not be changed? Maybe we should just take everything as it is? In this case, the most effective way to stop the internal dialogue is to shift attention to an analysis of the possible consequences of the problem that has arisen.

Thus, the internal dialogue is a process of mental activity, through which you can analyze the information received and build a chain of logical connections. It is also a way of adapting a person in society, because with the help of analysis you begin to understand what mistakes have been made, and will continue to behave differently in a similar situation in the future. For example, you broke your father's car. After such an act, you begin to think about whether it is worth talking to your father or not. If you say, he will swear. And if you keep silent, problems can arise much more. But after all the situation can not be corrected, because you need to say all the same. This is the internal dialogue, only it is built inaccurately. It is better in this case to analyze the possible options for a way out of the situation that has already occurred, and to look for those solutions that would reduce the number of negative consequences.

However, note that stopping the internal dialogue plays an important role, because otherwise there are many negative reactions, for example:

1. Dissipation of concentration. Thinking constantly about something, you can not concentrate on a particular case, accomplishing a task or working. Thoughts about a certain situation constantly pop up in your head, preventing you from thinking and doing other things.

2. Development of low self-esteem and complexes. Internal dialogue causes the emergence of a similar situation often in adolescents. Well, for example: "He does not want to communicate with me, because I'm ugly", "no one pays attention to me, because I'm a glassesy" and so on. You start to lead a lot of arguments in favor of your conclusions, developing a lot of complexes, which sometimes persist throughout life.

3. Constant internal anxiety, insomnia. Because you think about problems all the time, solve those situations that have already occurred and can not have a different solution, how can you calm down and feel relaxed? Such a condition can lead to the development of many more severe mental abnormalities, which can only be eliminated with medical care.

That is why it is so important to stop the internal dialogue in time. However, in addition to negative features, this type of dialogue also has many positive ones: motivation, self-knowledge, success in life and business, as well as positive energy.
